I know it's called *speed running*... but this run felt truly FAST. Normally speedruns are fast because of glitches, right? So runners have time to explain their actions. This game is fast by design, and speedrunning is just making it faster, so they have to explain things nonstop. Very fun as a fan of the game.

Awesome run! I love how knowledgeable the couch was for this one. I've personally not seen any Shadow Generations runs yet, but everything was pretty easy to understand, even though there was constantly stuff happening, tech on display, and of course speed! Great vod!!

I didn't know you could actually take out all the Mephiles clones and change the cutscene at the end of the fight. Most games probably wouldn't let you do something like that, but it's really cool this game does.

Oh wow I didn't even knew some of the routes he took here! And I don't mean the sequence breaking, I mean some of the alternate routes designed in the game. This game truly has some peak Sonic level design.

This run gets to show how awesome hedgehog engine 2 is even moreso than playing the game normally does. Sonic Forces used the engine as well but the actual level design of that game did nothing to highlight how versatile it could be

Couch with the right opinion on Shadows 2D stages, I prefer them to sonic generations 2D stages/sections. Also having full 3D acts is a major plus.

10:16 what was that super boost?? that seems hella good. not in the loop with speedruns for this game but if that's something you can replicate that's pretty insane unless that's literally just how fast he goes normally but i don't remember ever going that fast on a boost

You’re supposed to be in automation already when you hit those boosters but by approaching them like that you can get a mega speed launch. It can be used for an even bigger skip to the end of the stage if you dodge the trick ring but it’s not viable for any% since it skips hitting black doom, which gives a necessary collectible.

The third “jump” is just air boosting, which resets your fall speed and gives you a tiny bit of height (much less than a jump)
