Nice. I been having so much fun with my 2023 WR450F, that I sold my son's KTM 350EXC, and bought him a 2023 WR250F. The 250 is really good! I am going to try a 14 on the 450. Thanks for sharing.

How does the 350 compare to the 250? Do you prefer the Yamaha or KTM?

I prefer the Yamaha.

I bought a 2022 this week on a whim because a used one came up local and I'd been wanting to upgrade from my Fantic 250 for a while. First ride and I fell in love with it. I couldn't keep the front wheel down and that was on the standard map 😂

Oh man... seems like that bike is a handful to deal with. The moment you crack the throttle it lurches. Must have really been difficult with the thirteen tooth.

Not really. Just a matter of training yourself with clutch control. I've gotten used to it plus I've since put the 13t back on. Check out my "From the Bottom to the Top" video. I've gotten it pretty smooth now.

Thanks for the video, thinking about doing this to my bike as well. Just curious is this at Walker?

Love this bike but that exhaust sounds so bad. Reminds me of a deer grunt call. I’m assuming u unplugged it for more power? Can u put an aftermarket slip on pipe?
@Gamet36 Жыл бұрын
It is uncorked. That's not just exhaust you're hearing. That's also the induction noise. It can be annoying but I've tuned it out by this point.

I wanted to ask you. I assume you uncorked your WR250F and the new WR450F. but it looks like maybe you didnt upgrade to the competition ecu. I searched thru your old videos to see if you had a "here's my bike mods" but I didnt see it or missed it. I have a 23 WR250F so I'm curious. I have uncorked the intake and exhaust and swapped out the throttle screw. Can you run it on the stock ecu just fine or do you need to go with the comp ecu. The issue is the CCU kits are on back order for several months. I see you dont have a map switch so I assume you didnt go the ecu swap route, or you use the old fashioned power tuner.

So I did uncork both. The 250 had the new ECU and, being a 2018 model, I used the GYTR tuner with it. The 450 I uncorked it without the competition ECU. They are on back order and cost about $600. So I'm still running the the stock ECU. To be honest I don't see a reason to upgrade it. It runs awesome as is.

@@Gamet36 since these bikes, do not have an O2 sensor, will they not run even leaner uncorked? That seems a little dangerous to me
@Gamet36 Жыл бұрын
@@Jockmystilo I have faith in Yamaha. They designed these bikes to actually run "uncorked". They only stuff em up to meet reglatory standards in different areas. I think here in the states that's primarily California "red sticker, green sticker" designations.

@Bizman65 I did exactly what you did to my 2020 wr250f and ran it like that for over 60 hours. Zero issues plus the bike never flamed out, BUT I did have popping on decel (lean condition). A few months ago, I bought a GYTR ECU (no CCU) which made a big difference in power and removed all the decel popping. Fuel economy worsened (95 mile range to 65 miles), but that's what extra performance does. With the CCU, you could lean it out again to get better range. For $150 and a genuine Yamaha product, it's hard to beat!
