This really bothers me as someone who enjoys writing and worldbuilding. There is a difference between what is realistic within the lore of a story, and realistic within the world we live in. These variants can overlap, but 90% of the time, some irl realism will be suspended to make a more engaging story. At this point, the audience is expected to suspend their disbelief in order to allow for an enjoyable read. These unrealistic (in real world context) elements are often either revealed in the first few additions to a story, or are revealed later with no connection or alteration to what was explicitly stated or implied before. Examples of the former in the FNaF universe would be things like the souls bonding with animatronics to possess them, or the concept of springlock suits and the way they work. Examples of the latter would be the illusory discs in the main book series, or the time-travelling ballpit. Neither of those last 2 examples are concepts that were explicitly forbade in the lore, so the concept of their existence is A-ok in terms of how the universe in this series functions. However, there are some things that would make no sense in the lore, some unrealistic concepts that would make no sense if the next rendition of FNaF were to reveal it. Examples of this would be the animatronics being capable of tearing through metal, or something of that ilk, as it would make no sense in the context of the lore, and would cause some situations (such as the animatronics burning and their souls being freed) to make no sense. This has been Samantha's attempt to explain the concept of fictional realism.

Idea, on review of some of these FNAF theory videos: If Michael Afton is William's step-son, the Gold Fredbear plush is similar to a Lonely Freddy, and Michael is already confirmed to have been a human with robotics in his body...could the Fredbear plush be the real Michael while the one we play as in the first 6 games is actually bodyswapped? I mean, there's the META argument of that being why he's the player character for the first 6 games, before he's destroyed, he's already being controlled by a computer program...but that's just me being ridiculous. Still, the actual question could be worth looking into.

Ya'll are complaining about Mat using the books to solve the game, yet that's how he knew Cassidy's name, Purple guy's name, Orange dude's name, Charlie's name before anyone else. If that's not proof enough that the books are canon. Plus it's fascinating to see him analyze and think hard on words and sentences, like a treasure hunt. He surely is a much harder fan than anyone rejecting the books just because they don't fit their vision of the lore. Blaze : No, it doesn’t skip the next players turn, it just reverses the direction in which people take turns. Changing it from clockwise to counter clockwise and vice versa. Changing the direction wouldn’t give you an extra turn, because there’s only one other direction the turns can go. I’m guessing you’ve never played UNO before.
