Theory idea: Curious light is just like guiding light but he failed his mision which was to protect another visiter that could be bob and his punishment was being trapped in the rooms and when we enter the rooms we get the detour achivement which allows us to go to the backdoor. I believe that us going to the rooms and then escaping is what freed him. Some quick updates I wanted to make after reading a few replies: So adding onto the part with bob, I now think that curious light lead bob and el goblino through the hotel (just like guiding light is to us) and eventually bob gets cought in a snare and dies. Which then ends up with el goblino and curious backtracking to door 60 where curious went to the rooms and el goblino went to door 52 with bobs corpse. Also, I wanted to mention the fact that curious light seems to be more 'active' in the backdoor than in the rooms.

My theory is that seek IS the red light. The red light glowing around seek shows how they are connected, and (thankfully to this video) Seek is the owner of the hotel. he isn't a celestial, but he is the third architect. Celestials are a higher power, but the guiding light can easily overpower him, also he was BANISHED from the outside world, if he was a celestial, he could easily escape. Which then explains the modifiers, he is making you go through this dream many times, with the ability of making it harder. Then come the names of modifiers "you can really run" which makes you faster, and now, the piece to my lore, the modifier "i can run too" which, guess what, SEEK is sending us a message. The only problem I have with figure is the fact he's appeared more than other entities but less than seek. My theory is that figure is somewhat like Cerberus, trying to prevent you from getting to the end, and when that fails seek comes after you instead. The only problem with this is that seek comes after you before figure does, BUT one key detail is that figure and seek were the ONLY entities able to break out of the crucifix in floor one, meaning figure is obviously more powerful and important than most of the others

Supernatural's Lucifer having black goo on him is a one off thing and more because for environment reasons. He was in The Empty (both a being and a place) that is simply just a black and empty voice where all angels and demons die. He was burried underneath the surface, which is again, black. So him coming out like that was genuinely just because of how he was buried and has no reasoning to the character.

just some nitpicks from a cultured doors nerd: -if the castle from the end of floor 2 is meant to be a deliberate connection to limbo how does the mines and the hotel fit into limbo? presumably the hotel would be above ground as windows show up but that doesn't fit into the limbo detailed in divine comedy as its described as having no other islands and outside just being pure ocean but i guess you could say somewhere at the start of the mines you go into that limbo land stuff. -el goblino only appears in door 52 and door 152 so i have no idea where you got that hiding in walls thing from. he prefers sitting on chairs. (edit: i was wrong here, in dialog he does say he knocks on walls) -i know interpret the word "limbo" being under the statue in a lot of different ways but personally i think that its referring to either the entities being in limbo or something about the doors and rooms changing and being in limbo OR it could just be cuz its a cool word (but i know you can't just chalk something up as being included because its cool). -also its a weird touch to include a tweet were a developer says specifically that the game isn't going in a religious direction only to explain why it is but whatever. -so if seek is a celestial in limbo and appeared in floor 1 that would mean that floor 1 also takes place in limbo which contradicts with the assumption that only floor 2 was in limbo which means that contradicts with the description of limbo we get in the divine comedy of there being clear waters but i suppose you could make the argument that floor 2 still is limbo and seek just simply found a way into the mines and got into limbo but that seems like a stretch. -also if still using these really unlikely assumptions (that being that floor 1 doesn't take place in limbo) then how would seek be able to manipulate the rooms and shapeshift in the floor 1 chases if its not his domain? but assuming that the hotel just takes place really far away but still in limbo then it would be clashing with what limbo is actually described as. -also if floor 1 isn't a real hotel and instead the afterlife then how come the skull room/hospital exists? since this theory is actively replacing the original theory then how is that room explained? -overall i might just stick with believing the first theory and non of the subsequent ones.

It suprised me that during this entire theory franchise you have never talked about the achievment "Back on track" when you come back from the rooms to the main game wich refers the journey as a dream. And also that, during Seek's crescendo, when you click on a painting it tells you "This is not a painting" It might have a lore to it. The question is how did we get there. The play is probably an old patient that was kept in the hotel after the war. If its real life, then maybe we woke up realizing everyone else had left. If its the after life, then this is probably a twisted memory of the hotel. They would have probably died due to injurys in the war. The bible never stated Satin changed forms. There's a reason other angles followed him. They were drawn in by manipulation and his beauty. Though he can indeed shape shift like the snake in the garden. I think that MatPat's first video of Doors is right about the story, that we are Cryptozoologists, and we came to the Hotel to check if the Cryptoids (aka the monsters) are actually real. Guiding Light saw us enter the Hotel and decided to break the bridge so that no one else gets in or gets out.

A little Simple Detail you can see in Floor 2 which 100% Tells that the 3 Architect are Guiding Light, Curious Light and Modifers. Literally Look at the Generater Fuses they are Respectively Colored Blue (Guiding Light, also most important as it always comes first) Yellow/Orange (Curious Light) and Red (Modifiers), Is it a coincidence? I think Not! Pretty Good attention to Detail devs.

I don’t think Seek is an architect but I believe Mischievous light (Modifiers) Owns and creates the entities. Blitz in the Backdoor is normally green but Mischievous light uses her power to make him red and angrier. I believe she has favorite entities too, she made Rush, Ambush, Giggle, And all the rest, but when crucifying Grumble, The Figure, Or Seek, The crucifix glows red. If you crucify Rush, Ambush, Or Screech, She won’t stop you, because those aren’t her favorite entities. Mischievous light has favorite entities, and Seek is her best. Seek could be consuming more things to grow stronger to impress Mischievous light, or maybe for his own good. Notice how you can’t crucify any entities with actual names, Timothy, Jack, or Blitz, you can’t even do anything to them, another entity Hide, could be one of those,because Hide glows red with wisps and such, she finds them too valuable for you to even crucify, thus why she named them. In conclusion Mischievous light created all the entities and has power over them, some are her favorites, some are her most valuable, and some she doesn’t have much thought of.
