I'd really imagine the story if the player never understood the enderman Enderman: (*teleports up close*) Enderman: (*speaks gibberish* ) The player: ok what Enderman: (*thinks the player understands them*) Enderman: (*starts telling the entire story while saying more enderman gibberish*) Enderman: (*finishes the story and teleports away*) The player: *Mojang needs to fix their endermen*

Nether wasn't always hot, according to Matpats theory. I hypothesize based off of that the Nether goes through cycles of extreme cold and heat. Though I suppose it is still similar to the Underworld from Greek myth.
