I have a theory: The Player in this episode wasn't the real Player, and the real one's still in Poppy Playtime somewhere. It may sound stupid, but think about it: we know from the FNF Pibby Corrupted mod that the Darkness can make clones of people who are still alive, as seen with the fact of Pibby Corrupted Boyfriend fighting Survivor Boyfriend. With this knowledge, it's almost entirely possible that the Player helping Pibby was one of the Darkness' duplicates.
