REMEMBER: you will need A LOT of adhesive for upgrading all your weapons and armor pieces, so make sure you plant a shit ton of Tato’s, Corn and Mutfruit, and harvest them regularly. Also keep and save every purified water you find and regularly pull out the ones that get stored in your work bench from your water pumps. Keep all these ingredients in a container next to your cooking station and when you have a lot you can cook a bunch of Vegetable Starch which gives you I think 5 adhesive each. Adhesive was always the ingredient holding me back and I wish I knew to do this in the beginning. But awesome guide bro! This helped me out a ton!

I haven't played any fallout games, except New Vegas. But I absolutely love Skyrim. Does this game have the same feel, as for collecting unique items or finding and trying new exploits to become God and stuff like that? Couple places you missed: Sunshine Tidings has a great mag in it that doubles your meat from hunting. Walden Pond has another wasteland vendors mag, and Lexiton's superduper mart has a fusion core and a wastland vendors mag. Great video!

I'm not much for survival mode, but cooking meat does give you experience, which helps near the beginning of the game a lot. It can also earn you a lot of caps. When you have Bunker Hill, Diamond City, and Good Neighbor all unlocked you ca do some massive selling sprees for caps I'm not much for the food and chems other than the basic stimpacks and rad-away. I I do not use grenades too often, so I will hit all three locations as well as Carla and sell off my extra cooked food, grenades, and chems, and ammo. I used to sell off some guns, but I like building settlements up a ton, so I need scrap more. I get the Scrapper perk pretty early and scap out all the guns. The more mods on the gun the better the scrap is. I never run out of springs, screws, metal and even nuclear material. The great thing about this is instead of having to sell these I just need to scrap them and there are plenty of weapon crafting stations all over the place, including in during missions. Most scrapped items are WAY smaller. You can not scrap normal stuff this way, so that 3 pound gas can will be 3 pounds, but the 18 pound assault rifle might scrap down to a bout 2 pounds and give you 12 steel, 6 wood, 3 springs, 2 screws and a few other nice items. Some guns can give you 15 different scrap items. I also grow crops at my settlements and link them together. I make sure I pick up bones dirty water, acids... I then can craft tons of vegetable starch and cutting fluid as they can be scrapped for adhesives and oil. Combined with scrapping guns and the Scrapping perk you should not run out of scrap for building settlements and mods.

Another thing at mystic pines is in the lake directly across from the building, there is a downed vertibird, diving under water and looking around a bit next to the vertibird there is a suit of power armor with a full fusion core, in addition, the corvega place nearby has a raider with power armor and a fatman, that can be used with the set underwater

Vault 81, talk to teacher, Katie I think, tell the class a story and get magazine. If you're going to be evil to Austen, do this first as after they wont like you and you miss mag. First police station, stash and 2nd fat man, box on top shelf has mentats in it if you grab it and turn it over they fall out. Library, instead of fighting robots, before entry, hit intercom, guess password, I have never failed, they will be friendly to you and gives nice spot to fight mutants from, handy on survival mode.

It's mostly junk and maybe extra stimpaks but I always use the junk to sell later. I like to loot everything leading up to arriving in Diamond City.

16:49 There is a way to navigate the dialog to settle the stand off peacefully where Trudy pays the dealers and both Wolfgang and Trudy become shops at that location. Trick is just to do the first speech check, then ask to help (negotiate higher cap payment if you can) and talk Trudy into paying them what her son owes. Wolfgang has a lot of chems so I think he worth keeping alive. Trudy is more valuable if you don't want to have both though. Important note: if you demand the dealers hand over their caps you actually get a much lower payout from them for helping get Trudy to pay as they will say they already gave you all their caps.

you don't need to kill Crazy Wolfgang talk Trudy down tell her to pay up and Crazy Wolfgang will give you all the Jet you need to pay Mama Murthy but don't give give her any Jet yet talk to Piper first get into Diamond City and turn in Jewel of the Commonwealth at Nick's office. Once Ellie gives you Unlucky Valentine head back to Sanctuary give Mama Murthy the Jet and she will give you the password to get past Skinny Malone. Return to Diamond City and talk to the guards and take the quest Cleaning out Combat Zone, Freedom Trail, and Museum of Witchcraft but don't open them you only need to put Goodneighbor, Combat Zone, and Boston Common on the map. Rescue Cait and take her with you you will need her shotgun or you can go to Goodneighbor and get Maccready your buddy from Fallout 3. Rescue Nick, give Skinny the password or send Darla back to Goodneighbor, and get out of Park Street Station before Skinny goes Al Capone on you and blast you with his Tommy. After you talk to Nick go to Mama Murthy give her the mantats and she will tell you where the keys are do not give her any drugs until Hunter Hunted because if you give her a buffout during getting a clue or On the Trail the next drug will be Psycho and she will overdose don't do that. Once you give her buffout after Hunter Hunted you get her and Cait off the drugs Psycho is deadly you take that stuff it will kill you.

Vault 81, you missed a (iirc) Grognak mag the school's teacher gives you after telling the kids a story. You can only get it if you haven't seen the doctor yet, after that it becomes unobtainable. You missed as well Here Kitty, Kitty, the little quest Erin gives you to look for her lost cat. Don't miss it because following the correct speech path, you can be rewarded a fusion core.

Cryolater worked 5/2020. Hardest part was getting back into vault with dogmeat, tried about 20 times yesterday, no luck. Thought I'll just have a go today as well - first time sucess. no issues with dogmeat getting weapon either. Thanks for this video, I have 1k+ hrs into FO4 and this still showed me things I had missed in and around Sanctuary. Good job.

If he's not down there with you, just walk around. He'll usually appear. He won't get on the elevator down. If you direct him there and go down to the vault, have a stimpack handy. For some reason it considers having him use the elevator as a fall.

When you get to Diamond City do the quest Diamond City Blues as early as possible. If you convince Paul to let you go solo (Or he meets an unfortunate accident along the way) you get a huge pile of chems. Then make a bunch of Bufftats and Psychojet for a lot of EX. Depending on your starting point you can go up 2-3 levels.

You miss a fusion core in Concord where the deathclaw was hiding underground. When you pick up the meds, go all the way to those two pipe at the dead end and the fusion core will be behind those pipes.

17:11 Pro-tip: If you want both the chem and general goods trader, just side with Wolfgang when talking to him. Then when you talk to Trudy, convince her to pay (it’s yellow difficultly). That way you get both traders. Make sure you save before you do this just in case you fail the charisma check. (Edit: If you kill Wolfgang, two to three raiders will constantly be attacking the diner)

That 4-way intersection is a busy Random Spawn Point. Lot of easy action there. Several unmarked locations nearby. So, loot the dead baddies and trade with Trudy. No matter what trader I use, when I finish with them I always have all their caps. They get replenished within a couple game days so I can do it again and again.

I've been playing this for years and still learned 2 new things from you. They were small but new anyway! My one and only critique is in the Satellite Aray. Kill Ack Ack first, back off, another raider picks up the minigun, kill that raider, and rinse and repeat through all raider. Loot their bodies and you'll find that each raider has 100+ 5mm rounds on them. The last one that you killed will have the 500 rounds and the minigun, thus doubling the amount of rounds you find. Sometimes ALL of them have 500 rounds thus giving you +500% of the rounds. This works in the Trinity Church too with the 3 Supermutants.

In the library right where you walk in is a book return machine with enough tokens you can buy a medical magazine +5 to limb damage. If you enter the library from the tunnel and pass the speach check all the robots inside are now friendly lol although you now have to fight a butt load of supermutants very fun fight!

ProTip for Colour-Blind peeps: for the suggestion ~10:00 to only scrap items highlighted in 'white', you might need to change the HUD colour. I thought maybe my game version was different or something, as all items appeared highlighted the same! Turns out some were yellow, while some were the default HUD green (I straight up can't see the difference!). Go into Menu > Settings > Display and adjust the HUD Color R/G/B until it looks like something you want to look at (that isn't too close to yellow!). This has probably been said elsewhere, but just in case it helps someone (and mad props for the developers for including this - it's an elegant way of sorting things for C/B people without using an alternative preset (one size does not fit all), while also making it so that any player can customise to the exact colour scheme they want to work with!)

According to Steam, I have over 1000 hours in FO4. I never knew about any of this early game items in the vault, just the Pip Boy or the settlement. You missed the mag at Wicked Shipping. Unless you just didn't show it, you should have picked up the mini-nuke parts from Gorski's Cabin. You need to get the scrapper perk as early in the game as you can to get the rarer components from scrapped armor and weapons. You need to scrap everything that isn't worth it to carry to a vendor to sell. Yes, with supply lines, the workshop settlements have shared inventories. The only things they share though are the components from scrapping, the raw meat and the produce. Always, always pick up the weapons. This gives you their ammo and then you can save yourself the weight gain by immediately dropping/scrapping/selling them. For my main base I always prefer Hangman's Alley. It's fairly central in the Commonwealth, easily defensible and is in easy walking distance from Diamond City. I always clear it on the way to Diamond City for the very first time. You didn't get the Grognak magazine (#4 I think) from Vault 81. You also didn't collect the 3 mags and unique armors (Grognak's and the Silver Shroud) from the comic book store, the magazine from Trinity Church, and the magazine from Backstreet Apparel, all of which are in areas you go through or next to places listed in this video.

The Assembly plant, Valentine's mission, and the Combat Zone are a bit tough for many beginners. I also would skip the library and boat for now too. I would probably go to the Cambridge Police Station and do a few BOS missions first, then go to Diamond City to just get the quests normally. You should have grabbed the locket while at the USAF Satellite Station Olivia. I would have also had them continue on to Tenpines Bluff to get the the mission there. Take the locket to Abernathy farm for a mission. I like to set up the beacons at all the settlements as I go. I would have also built the water purifier that goes in the river there at Sanctuary as it requires a lot less to build and power for the same amount of water. Really I would focus a bit more doing some missions and building up some settlements. You get quite a bit of experience doing both and when you get into the down town area you are not going to get your ass kicked so hard. Worry about the comic books and bobbleheads a bit later. This way you should be level 15-20 and if you do what I say below... sporting some of the best armor and weapons of the game. this should make running through these other locations MUCH easier. Personally I do not put anything into lockpicking for a while. Most of the locked things have pretty much the same crap in them, but something like Scrapper or Scrounger will give you WAY more in the long run. Scrapping guns, especially ones with mods give you plenty of useful scrap and scrounger lets you find way more ammo than normal. Both are VERY handy at the lower levels. I tend to sell most of my ammo and meds I am not using for caps. There are a few locations that are not too hard to go to that have weapons well worth getting, like combat shotguns and combat rifles. It is not too hard to get to Vault 81. If you are careful you can get there without any nasty encounters... Just head south and a little west from Starlite and hit Graygarden, cross the railroad bridge and hit Oberland Station and then go south and a bit east and you will find vault 81. Give them 3 fusion cores to enter and just past the elevator is a trader that will sell you one of the best guns in the game, the Overseer's Guardian. It is a 2 shot combat rifle with the armor piercing automatic receiver, recoil compensating stock, short night vision scope. I like to convert it to single shot with the best receiver I can do. Take Rifleman and gun nut as soon as you can. You can also be cheesy and join the Railroad and do a few missions for PAM to unlock the ballistic weave armor and take say a trilby hat and military fatigues with the Armorer's Perk and apply ballistic weave to both. The fatigues I think are glitched and let you still put regular armor over them. There is always a hat inside the house next to Graygarden that works and there are always fatigues in the Nation Guard Training Yard between Country Crossing and Finch Farm if you get out to the east side of the map. The Railroad is at the North Church to the Southeast of Bunker Hull and Country Crossing is to the North East of Bunker Hill. Also carry around a few extra hats and outfits. They typically do not weight much and if you can get something that adds to Intelligence (lab coats and press cap for +3INT) Charisma (formal hat, black rim glasses, and dirty tan suit for +4CHR) as you can swap out clothing quick for these checks. Menats also add 2 to Intelligence for a short time so I usually have some of those. Total these come in at around 7-8 pounds. If you do the Trinity Tower mission then Rex will give you a special suit coat that is +3CHR and can have ballistic weave applied. Unlike the Army Fatigues you can not put other armor over it. Personally I think this is plenty, so I usually sport this suit, the trilby hat, and black rim glasses most of the time for +5CHR.

I agree on the Overseer’s Combat Rifle that can be bought in Vault 81, it’s devastatingly powerful. If you can use chems/clothes to boost up to around an 8 Charisma, Vault 81 will let you in *without* having to pay them 3 fusion cores

Get to level 8. Get the two shot 10mm pistol by farming the sewer location in Concord. Save up 3500 caps for the Overseer's Guardian. Proceed to kill everything in 2 shots.

Matthew Franklin why bother farming two shot 10mm when there’s old faithful that let u one shot everything on survival with the right build. the second bullet from two shot guns is not affected by your perk. If u want to farm legendaries look for instigating or explosive shotguns.

It can be done a speech check at the intercom next to the entry and it will make the protectrons not hostile

@@fjmb3000 Yep, picking the lock also forces the Super Mutants to spawn immediately also. If you guess the password, the robots are not hostile and if you avoid the area where they are protecting the back room with the bobble head, you can walk through all the spawn areas for the Super Mutants and plant explosives so when you return to the back room the Super Mutants spawn on land mines. Just avoid putting any where the robots are patrolling or you'll be Mr. Unpopular with everyone.

He missed the night vision scope around when he grabbed the laser musket, for those who don’t under stand he could’ve grabbed it then attached a normal sight or standard then use that scope which is a really good one for early on.

Also the Military Helmet at the military vehicle in between Sanc and RR very useful early, especially in Surv or Very Hard if you're a stealth sniper build or whatever not using power armor often.

If you decide to forego that cave the loot OUTSIDE the entrance is on a very quick respawn and can be farmed until you enter the tunnel. 4 fungus, 6 tools, 2 oil, fire extinguisher, coffee pot and cup.

I wouldnt leave a Fusion Core behind in PowerArmor you want to use later on. Settlers may take it then (when settlement is under attack)

The real reason to take the used fusion cores with you is to use all of the partials first. I let dogmeat carry all of the full FCs until the armor has cycled through all of the used ones. Let your settlers take the damned armor. Before too long, I have more power armor that I can use and you can't salvage any of it. The traders don't pay enough for it to make it worthwhile to drag around.

@@jimcalhoun361 I find it more profitable to step out of power armor when the core is very low and swap a new one in. The partial cores sell for full value and If you have no others on you and need them for a quest (vault 85, the hubologists) you use the almost drained ones.

GameVibz at 16:54 there is a 3rd option, you can chose to talk Trudy into paying Wolfgang, you can do this with just 3 charisma but you may need to reload a save next to the place a few times, doing this allows you to get payed either 100 caps from Wolfgang or you can convince him to give you 125 caps and over if you pass an orange speech check. The second bonus to this is that you now got a chems dealer and a trader of all kinds of different items all in the same place.

An easy tip for any character is to start with 6 charisma then find a piece of clothing in sanctuary that gives 2 charisma, the militia hat on the dead minutemen outside of Preston and the settlers and the pair of black rimmed glasses you can find in the mole rat den by red rocket on a little wall nook, all together will give 10 charisma to easily pass every speech check

If you want to, you can hold off on doing any of the minutemen stuff till you've finished nuka world. Then you can do open season, and then start the minutemen and Preston won't hate you, regardless of how much raider stuff you did (even raider settlements). So you can get all the nuka world perks, and still finish off on the minutemens good side. Also, I wouldn't take the perception bobblehead till you get 10 in perception eventually. Cause that'll extend it to 11. Same with the other special bobbleheads. You can also get both merchants available at Dunlin Diner. You try to help the evil guys and tell them to try and peace talk. Then you can convince the lady to pay up, and both become friendly. Good video though.

Ive had this game for a very long time. reinstalled it a few days ago to try to get the benevolent leader achievement and I have never built anything before. The roofs may be full of holes but roofs are all that is required and roofs with holes work. If it's good enough with them, it's good enough for me. After scrapping the place and a few local looting trips, I can build a Settlement for 20 Settlers in Sanctuary in 15-20 minutes. Now I can go rescue Preston and gang.

You can just load up settlers with junk and Move them to a new location where you want to build. It more novelty than necessary. Especially on survival where that perk point could be something life or death related.

Level 2 of Local Leader Perk lets you build stores (booths really) in your settlements. Assign Settlers to man the stores. These generate caps that go into your workshop (for your easy retrieval) like anything else that is produced in the settlement.

I was doing some exploring and I found out that there is a church in concord and if you go on the roof and jump onto the vertibird you can get to the roof easier than going through the front door :)

If you are speaking of Sanctuary, I use the minimalist approach, but I give them honest to goodness full size beds. The intact houses have enough empty rooms after everything has been cleared out that I can build 20 beds and have room for more. And if I moved all the furniture (cabinets, chairs, and couches, etc.) outside I could about double the number of beds. Heck you can build acceptable beds under the carports for even more. They just need roofs not walls.

A very valuable material. I also suggest looking for an alien emergency landing ship, which most often crashes into the Oberland Station, where, after killing one alien, you get an alien pistol that can be easily converted into laser cells!

This was the first game I played when I got a PS4. It's a great game. Now on the PS5. Maybe a remaster one day, can hope
