WOW! The fact that the Palutena leak was yesterday, the Pic of the Day shows Viridi, along with Rosalina & Zelda, as a stage hazard since she's too big. Now this REALLY makes me think Sakurai knew about the Palutena leak which makes the leak is even more believable!

But yet again I did see her coming in due to the more female characters but I was losing doubt in it. Neonray3 I kinda doubt she'll be announced anytime this month. It seems too early since we just got Rosalina last month. Then again, I could be wrong cuz most people, including myself, were expecting Sakurai to drop something dope on Smash Bros' 15th Anniversary like a new stage, character, Final Smash, whatever, but we just got a plain pic of Rosalina using Luma. We'll see tho! :)

There's just one thing I'd like to point out now about the Star Man on Palutena's clothes. It appears to be just her regular accessory, which also appears on her SSBB trophy skin. Although both images I have for comparison are too small and hard to determine for sure it could be that the darker lines that make the 'eyes' of the Star Man are simply the shadows on her accessories. But again, I have no better image quality for a fair comparison. What I did realize is that her top is white, while her... dress... is of a blueish color, as opposed to her trophy in Brawl, where the colors are all white. This appears to have been a heritage from Uprising, where her dress colors match those in the pic, but her staff isn't that much detailed on the 3DS title. Actually, her staff's "wings" appear to be bigger on Uprising than they are on the images above, making her model a bit of a mix between the two versions. Aside from that, her face has a more gentle expression than she has in Brawl, and appears younger, as seen in Uprising. Also, Palutena's shield has a red cord in both Brawl and Uprising artworks, but she doesn't have it here. The wings on her halo appear to be a bit more

Well I have really thought of this, but I believe she is a playable character. Assist trophies never just stand there like she is in the screenshot with Mario. I get assist trophies do stay still sometimes, but what I mean is, Assist trophies usually go into a pose in the air. So that is probably the case, but it probably dons't mean too much.

I just want to see a Dragon Quest Character, Square Enix and Nintendo did come together to make Fortune/Boom street it would make sense, plus DQ3 sold like hell in Japan. It would be awesome to see Palutena in the new Smash! We do need more female characters imo.

Palutena has a lot of potential. She has two bossfights (even if one is kinda pseudo), she is the one responsible for all the powers Pit can use during battle, like super speed, fireworks, jumping, that big laser, the huge light shield, and obviously the power of flight. And let's not forget the Palutena clobber beam she used to decimate Hewdraw. And looking at the anime shorts, she is capable of wielding weapons. And don't forget that she is holding a magical staff and a mirrorshield. Also she is hilarious and awesome. Even if the images are fake, she will be in anyway. I can't see Sakurai passing up on her.

If they are real, why are they zoomed in so much? Shouldn't gameplay shots be zoomed out so you see their full bodies? If the game is paused and zoomed in, shouldn't there be button instructions bordering the screen like in all previous Smash Bros games?

I just noticed that Mario and Paluteuna are extremely close for being through a regular match, and there are no instructions on how to control the camera. showing that it's not paused. Unless the game is still early in development that it there isn't any instructions. I remember Sakurai during the E3 trailer zooming in without pausing the game, so I don't know...

When I first heard about this, I was against it, my thorughts being that if they make Palutena a character, why not make Arceus, Din, Farore, Nayru, and the Plasm Wraith playable characters? That seems plausible, right? But then I realized. If Palutena was a character, one day, Viridi might be a character.

***** Another great video, I looked over these pics last night and didn't even noticed the Starman on her belt. I have no doubt in my mind that she is in the game AND is playable. There's so much evidence showing her as playable. The ONLY thing she had against her was the assist trophy not being shown in the 3DS version yet. But Derick pointed out the outline only really needing to be on playable characters and not on Assist Trophys. That is not true at all. The Brawl hack version of her is absolutely disgusting looking. She also has no staff and shield in those hacks because she's just a Zelda skin. If this is faked I'd say that this is simply a doctored version of her Uprising Model, but there are enough differences in her facial structure and details that I believe it. The adornments on her belt (And the belt itself) are 2D images, and not 3D models. She's smirking and her mouth is more defined than you ever see her in either game. Her nose is a bit more pointed than in Uprising Like the video says, if this is fake it's a GOOD fake.

^This. I think we'll get boss fights. Hell, we probably WILL get a story mode (just not one like SSE. I'm hoping it's fun, though. Maybe something kinda Castlevania-y? Where there's little snipits of story, but you're mostly wandering aimlessly through corridors that are modelled after levels from various Nintendo games.

Wait a minute, look at Mario's eyes. If you remember from the post with Mario, Peach, and Rosalina back in December, Mario looked up trying to make eye contact with Rosalina. In these pictures, he is looking straight into Palutena's stomach. This could mean that it is fake.

Great conversation as always. Nintendo does not tend to have anything leak but I would like to remind of that Namco is doing the heavy lifting for development, and Namco has had some leaks. For example, regarding the Tales of series, leaks have been even somehow regular. And keep in mind that some of the Tales staff is working on this.

Well i did a little analysis on this myself, Outlines only appear on playable characters if you looked at some of the backround characters such as Kappn,Shy guy,or the toon link in the spirit tracks stage (couldnt find a assist trophy so it is still skeptical) they had no outlines on them.

I just want to point out, what you thought was a Starman is actually the top of one of the decorations. There is a pattern with the decorations and the one that looks like a Starman is really the top part of the decoration that is second to the left.

Wait, but we've never seen an assist trophy on the 3DS before. Only ashley, the outline is there for you to identify the character, so it could very well be the first picture of a 3DS assist trophy, but with the fact it has two screenshots it sort of points more to Character than assist.

So I'm not to sure about this, but I just finished watching the video for the Developer commentary on Smash Bros. WiiU/3DS, and Sakurai said that both games will have the same "number" of characters which might mean the same number, but not the same characters, so if Palutena is in the 3DS version she may be exclusive to the 3DS one, I might be and probably am completely wrong about this .____.

That starman trinket seems to be just an illusion (its the same as another trinket sort of like a tree) but the trinkets seem to be different arrangement from either Brawl or Uprising.

I would absolutely love for Palutena to be a character. There are a LOT of hints towards it, too! I wasn't extremely convinced though, until I saw the April Nintendo Direct for Smash. Once they revealed the Pseudo Palutena trophy AND that Pit's final smash was changed, I was sure.

This probably isn't THAT big of a deal, but did anyone else notice that the strap and or string thing that was dangling on palutena's shield in kid Icarus Uprising isn't there in these pics?

I think it's strange how the person took the picture of the 3ds. If this was during a battle, the camera angles wouldn't be like they are in the pictures.

Mr. Sakurai just finished working on Kid Icarus: Uprising so it would be likely that he wanted to add more characters from that in the new Super Smash Bros. Plus, I heard Mr. Sakurai isn't making a Kid Icarus: Uprising sequel so maybe he decided to add Lady Palentena for that reason too. BUT she is in Pit's final smash with the smash ball in Brawl which makes me a bit skeptical. Unless they change his final smash which they probably will, IF THEY EVEN HAVE THEM.

They recently changed Pit's Final Smash to the Three Sacred Treasures from Uprising. This just strengthens the rumored leak.

I'm sorry if you said this in the video already, but Palutena seems a little shorter than in Uprising if you compare Pit's height compared to Mario's in Brawl and her height compared to Pit's when you fight her in Chapter 20.

No Wii U screenshots. The higher detailed game, harder to make it look real. Only 2 poses. Screw Covers aren't on the front of a 3DS/3DS XL/2DS. Trees in the background of the Mario & Palutena are not in the other screenshot (the mountain is), and are too close to each other. The mountain is in the wrong place. Yeah, this is totally real.

This is off topic but you know what would be a great idea for a stage? A tour of Peach's Castle from Super Mario 64. What I mean by that is traveling on the platform like Delfino Plaza and you could go through some paintings and fight in that world like Lethal Lava Land or Shifting Sand Land. Then the platform could pick you back up and take you for a tour through the castle and into another painting. Plus this stage could be in both games due to it being a console and handheld release game!
