The island part might be taken from the other islands, the ones you do minigames on. The bug catching island for example if a "town" style map and is random Also, the trees on the map are platforms, if you look at it you can see they stick out.

I guess the randomness of the stage is actually inspired by the random island minigame maps in the island, somehow a way to reflect that aspect, which is random each time you play in those. Another thing, the trees look like platforms, looks like you can stand on both trees since the leaves look different from the rest of the tree.

Oh man it's the fire and ice witches from Ocarina of Time! Kotake and Koume have memorable designs for me. I did not expect to see them again in another game. That is really cool to see. Also, really liking that new Animal Crossing stage.

Its possible that a lot of the veterans like ganondorf, ness, and captain falcon won't be revealed until just before the game is released as a "secret character," similar to how marth, luigi, and ness were unveiled for brawl.

The main island didn't vary in new leaf, but the online ones did once you became a member of Club Tortimer. The randomization of the stage is probably based on this, as the name "Tortimer Island" suggests.

Little macs multi direction special is the same as Marth and Roys side-B special. Depending on the direction of input you could combo into different attacks.

You can actually see the stage will change because on the zoomed out picture there's more trees and less flowers. I'm the zoomed in one with villager, there's more flower bushes and the trees are chopped down. Plus you can see the dirt path in a different location compared to the zoomed out.

They function the same though. When you use Marth's side-B, you can tilt up, down, or forward for a different finishing move after the first 2 slashes. Obviously not the same move, but function the exact same.

this week was dope. everyone has so many ideas of what is going on. For each level's stage hazard, I wonder if so many stages will actually be bosses. It'd be cool to do a Boss mode in your brawls, so you can team up and pick a stage to have a boss for you

I love how these guys actually show their knowledge of Smash. It seems like IGN has a bunch of people that I doubt even played more than one multiplayer match doing the weekly recall. They mess up so much with simple known facts in the Smash universe it sickens me.

Anyone else notice that on Fridays screenshot of the island. The villager looks like he's doing the shrunk funk shuffle. This could be a Taunt! You can also tell its not his standard pose, because in the Nintendo direct he was in you see his standard pose. Rocking back and forth like in the game.

Incorrect Andre. Marth and Roy both had the ability to change their side B by changing the direction of the stick. Even the activation seems similar as it was in melee if you do it to quick it just drops out. In brawl you could just mash it out but it was weaker for Marth.

I cringe every time he makes a mistake. I love this series, but Japan Time is better when it comes to accuracy. But I enjoy Gamexplain more. So it's kind of a balancing act. :/ I hope a podcast comes up that has Gamexplain's style with people who are actually experts/competitive players on Smash Bros.

I almost made that mistake as well but if you listen again they said there hasn't been a "Smash Attack" like this before, and with that, I agree. Maybe something close would be link's double slash, but I think this is probably more sophisticated and tactile.

The island you could visit in new leaf while online with other people was randomly generated.

Some things about the Animal Crossing: New Leaf Stage: 1. It isn't that old, it released June 9, 2013. If you were gonna say something like that, Pokemon X and Y is newer and they already have Pokemon from there. 2. the island is always different for every town. But I noticed there is a dock and a pond, which aren't on the island in the game. So the pond is probably a stage hazard, and the dock might be a way for Kapp'n to get you to the island. 3. I noticed the flowers, trees, and such were in different places in both pictures. That must be how the stage changes. Also, the beach and land can be in different places, just like the game. The special characters could simply rotate from Kapp'n's family and Tortimer. 4. The trees look REALLY differently from the game. Just saying. Also, a tree never had one fruit.

I think the trees in the Animal Crossing stage have platforms amongst the trees. They seem to stick out. So random tree placements will make it interesting.

i have some ideas on how the AC/NL stage will play, 1. maybe it will be like mushroom kingdom in brawl where defrint music changes if your under ground or in a normal level, 2. maybe the throwable objects (if there are any) will kind of act like the en-a-mes in mario bros. just something to think about. 3. maybe it'll kind of be like summit in the case of the giant fish.

Not sure if this was brought up, but if you look at the Cappn' pic again, you can see he is on a wooden platform. therefore he is most likely not on a boat, but off screen on the dock off to the left .

To be honest I'm sort of waiting for a surprise screenshot of alternate costumes. I know its a long shot and probably won't happen but brawl felt like a tease since the colors represented costumes while not actually being them(samus for example had the dark,light,and fusion suit colors). I mean if they wanted to they could easily give the 3ds version more individuality with specific costumes like OoT link and zelda or starfox 64 fox. Adding alternate costumes instead of just colors is something a lot of people want but in reality probably won't be added in the game. Would be cool though:)

So the spectators on the ACNL stage are going to be Tortimer, Laila, Leilani, Grams, and Kapp'n. So does that mean they will be the only spectators, or will some of the other NPCs appear as well. And from the looks of it, we won't get K.K. Slider on Saturday Nights on this stage.

Yep, I guessed from the trailer that Little Mac will be a ground combo-ing machine, with his fast speeds and the poor launches of some of his attacks just makes him a really valuable asset to combo experts. This style even reminds me of fighting games like Marvel VS Capcom, where you just have to get a super fast, extremely awesome combo, just to finish off your opponent with a devastating attack, like a hyper move, or in Little Mac's case, his body hook could be a combo finisher, he could also launch opponents upwards just a bit before sending them crying with his normal special. Yep, there will be many ways to master Little Mac.

wiilover07 doesn't really make sense to complain over something EXTRA, :) . You get both the home console you think Smash Bros should be on AND a bonus of a portable version. There is no con, so you shouldn't really be complaining.

yeah tilting and doing forward smash attacks did change the angle only in brawl but it was a move that stuff was put in brawl on purpose so why is there no different when you do these types of forward smash attacks when you go to use hacks it will say stuff like forward smash up and forward smash down if you try to mod movesets so those moves were put in there for a reason and i guess now they are taking affect sweet to see this

smash brothers doesn't have a delay usually, but since it realised so early in the consoles life, they have to take the inspiration from last gen games when they don't have one on current gen yet
