But back in the 90s, the number one hang out choice for some weekend fun or a cool kid birthday party was a day of playing video games at the arcade with your best buds. Its pretty accurate. Although there was a huge closing of arcades from '96 on due to home consoles becoming more capable of handling arcade graphics. There were however awesome things like arcades behind the crystal ware in JC Penny and Macy's, as a ploy to get parents to spend more money without worrying about their kids. Although they deny it now, if asked about it. I remember it.

When I excelled on my skidpad (ice road driving) test on the first try, I told my instructor it was because of my video-gaming experience, since I managed it in the game and know what to do. He told me another driver also said that, when he had just drove down a whole fence since "he did that in the game". If this was true, or a joke, I don't know, but it was funny to hear :-p
