"A Super Nintendo Oasis", so you might even say it was a videogame supernova? Share many of these same memories of first experiences with Mortal Kombat, Mario Land, Link's Awakening. I also remember your insistence and heavy supporting my giving Metal Gear Solid a try. Definitely remember feeling like I was playing a movie with that one. Also, still trying to reconstitute my porridge brain.

I recall the car trips with my parents & having a Super Gameboy being the only reason I beat the Gameboy games that I did. I never wanted to play portable at home, but the games were still great so I'd play them on my TV.

Love the Super Game Boy. Blew my mind the first time I used it at a friend's house. So cool to see Link's Awakening on a TV.

I will have to check out more of your videos. I remember getting my ,Game boy in 91, I had Tetris that came with it, then Gremlins 2, I think my best memory was getting the Nintendo 64, with GoldenEye, then Xbox with Halo. ✌️

Nice! Those are great memories. I'll never forget how much fun four player local co-op was back then. 🤘

I remember owning (and I probably still have it somewhere?) a Tiger hand held for Ducktales.... that thing paled in comparison to the OG Gameboy I inherited from my older brother. It sounds like we kinda played the same stuff growing up. I think my first game ever was Mario 1 on NES, but I remember playing Mario 3 way more. Tetris was always my go to game on the go. SNES brought me the wonders of Zelda LTTP, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. And I remember getting both the regular and DX version of Link's Awakening. I enjoyed it, but not as much as LTTP. I should probably get the Switch port of it too!

So relatable! You should definitely check out the new Switch version of Link's Awakening; it's great. Have been itching to replay it recently.

GameBoy Monopoly *and* a PlayStation for the same Christmas? Very nice! There's nothing like setting up a new system on Christmas morning and playing some brand new games.

Thanks for watching! I was born in early ‘89, but can’t really claim to be an 80s kid with no memories from that year, unfortunately. 😆

Looks like you have the same type of games that I owned, and i'm also a Retro gamer. I love the first three Super Mario Bros. games for the NES (although I didn't grew up with this console when the games first came out, I first played it when my aunt bought it from ebay and I played it with my younger cousins, I was like 7 or 8 years old at that time. Those games were really fun, same with the Gameboy and the SNES. (didn't grew up with the SNES, but I bought it from ebay over 5 years ago. My older sister still owned the Gameboy, but since she doesn't play it anymore, I decided to keep it and added it to my collection on my shelf. (which i'm planning to make a room tour when it's completely finished) But of course I grew up with the Nintendo 64 and the Gamecube. Yup, gaming is definitely a part of me (especially Retro) I never owned Tiger Electronics, I heard that it's not the best, but it's cool if I have collection of them and make a showcase on each game. And since you mentioned about Kirby's Dream Land, i'm actually gonna make a Let's Play on this game for my channel. I really enjoy your videos, looking forward to see more of them!

Thanks so much for watching and sharing your experience! It’s great to have those memories, and it’s clear how impactful they’ve been for you. I didn’t own an SNES or NES until I was an adult either. The PS1 was technically a “family” console, and the first one I bought with my own money was a watermelon red “Funtastic” Nintendo 64. Not sure what year that was, but I think it was probably in 1999 or 2000. I plan to talk more about it in the next video for this series. ☺️

Cross Chop Oh yeah, I still owned my PS1. Oh cool, my Nintendo 64 is Grape Purple. I have a Retro game store near me (when it’s open again due to the stupid virus) I will buy some more games there. 😊
