GAMING on a £5/$7 Phone?

Hello and welcome to this Budget Builds Episode...Which is more of a small side project that I wanted to try out; essentially I picked up a cheap smartphone for £5 off of ebay, and well it was uprising, i'm a big fan of mobile gaming, and android offers you some awesome emulators...But can this phone even run them?
From running the 2000's equivalent to Call of Duty to Nintendo's 90's Flagship, oh and even some Minecraft...We want to see if its possible...

That Android "Lollipop" ROM is just a skin of that stock Android 2 rom with some tweaks

It probably wouldn't even run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich very well if it is from 2011/2012. Trust me, I know these things. My old Galaxy Ace Plus from 2011 is on Gingerbread 2.3 My old ZTE Blade 3 from 2012 runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich very abysmally. It locked up very often and I couldn't use it for more than 6 months. Don't get anything older than 2013/2014. edit: Well, I am surprised! Not bad performance, but still, I wouldn't use that.

The Xperia Play had the same CPU at 1Ghz and the same GPU, however RAM was 512MB. Just shows how wasted the specs were with the Optimus L3

Xperia Play had Adreno 205, not 200. The Xperia X10 had Adreno 200. Also, the CPU was Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon S2 (Xperia), not Qualcomm MSM7225A Snapdragon S1 (LG).

This phone has 1gb internal. you had 100 mb, and it wasnt because of the bloatware. LG cut the internal. 300mb to apps and 700mb for anything else. (messages,moving apps, etc...) you had 1gb after installing that rom cuz it had the SD Merge feature.

I fell kind of identifyied with this video. I use a Sony Xperia E1 as my daily driver, it only has 500mb of ram and 2gb of storage which is starting to show its age. But i have to say is still very usable, i can game on it, make phone calls, text messages, watch videos on youtube at 480p and surf the web with no problem. I dont think i would have too many problems using this LG scince im used to running out of ram.

if all you were doing was gaming, you could have gotten much better specs for the money. For example, the zte maven 3 was 8 dollars on sale earlier this week with a quad core snapdragon 210, and a 5 inch screen. The catch is that it's locked to a carrier but you don't have to activate to get it so if you wanted to play games only, it would be a much better option. It's crazy how good cheap phones have gotten!

Just put a custom rom or in the stock, 4.1.2 one, disable bunch of bloatware and services from android and install nova launcher or another one you like and is lighweight, and disable touchwiz. It will be awesome for the price. I saw one for equivalent of 20 dollars (about 100 reais). Mine i got from a friend. The battery lasts one entire day, the screen is way better than that. It runs 480p youtube perfectly (youtube dont give options lager because of the screen resolution) It is dualcore. Has a good camera for its time (and ok camera now). It films in 1080p with the 8mp. The screen is bigger. With a good custom rom in the s2 is way better than mine. Sound is actually better and more crysp and clear than my last (and dead) phone, the galaxy s6. I can run 1080p video fine on it. Browsing is not bazingly fast, but usable.

Reminds me alot of the old Galaxy Y phone. Same size too. I flashed everything from AOSP and even the Galaxy Y Hello Kitty phone edition ROM for the giggles as it chimes Hello Kitty as it boots.

HOLY SHIT! I HAD THIS PHONE! It was my first android phone, I used it for about 1 year or more, rooted it with framaroot and I played a lot of games on it like banana kong, a bouncy ball game, I even installed clash of clans on it and had trouble even reading the text xD I also loved the LED the phone had. It would light green when the battery is completely charged, yellow when you had a message or lost call, stuff like that. It was nice. I struggled to smuch with that camera. I was in my first year of college and I needed to take pictures of some notes. Stuff was hard to read without autofocus. Now I have a Toshiba Excite Write tablet and I can't even install anything past the official android 4.3 on it. I only use it to read manga though so I'm fine with it,
