Great video and explanation of why you prefer your PC monitor over the C1 however for me PC gaming never completely satisfied me until I switched from my 27" PC gaming monitor to the 48" C1 as a PC monitor...now my PC gaming experience is like my console gaming experience but without having to choose between fidelity mode vs performance mode. I love gaming on the C1 so much...it reminds me of my 10 year old 64" Samsung plasma but with better specs. 3 years ago I had switched my console gaming from the plasma to a 64" 4k HDR LED however now I moved both my PS5 and switch dock from the TV room to my desk, so all my gaming is in one location. Sitting closer to the 48" C1 (in addition to it's superior picture quality and specs) makes up for going from a 65" TV to a 48" TV... I point that out because screen size was the motivating factor why I switched from a 27" PC gaming monitor to a 48" TV used as a PC monitor, so it sounds as if I am contradicting myself by going from a 65" to a 48" TV.

I just wanted to say that I love this channel! Keep up the great content! 👍 I recently purchased the 77" LG C1 OLED and it's amazing! Around the same time, I also bought the Samsung G7 gaming monitor, which I returned and replaced with the 48" LG C1 OLED. I prefer to game at my desk on the 48" and watch TV shows/movies on the 77". I chose the 48" C1 as it's marked way down right now. Best decision I've ever made, and I've been flip flopping between screens for a couple years now. HDR gaming on these is out of this world, definitely feels next gen. Edit - I did wall mount it and its roughly 50" from my eyes which is the sweet spot. Would definitely not recommend for any distance closer than that

That's exactly what I did. The LG 48" C1 2021 model is about $900. After Nov 2022, the LG 42" C2 should be considerably marked down in price. And by that time, competitors will have their own OLED models out for XMAS.

I have a C2. It needs to be mounted flat on the wall really, Also, my desk is about 60cm deep. But for me, it's perfect. It's just so beautiful. My 4k monitor with HDR looks nowhere near as good as this screen. Also, that display was 144hz and this is 120hz. I don't know how or why, but the frame rates are just so much smoother. Maybe thats a HDMI 2.1 vs Display Port thing... Those blacks do ALOT for image quality/clarity. I completely understand those who think it's too big though. It won't be to everyone's taste. But if you feel like you would enjoy this, you will most definitely not be disappointed.

if you sit near your monitor, working and playing game, maximum you need 27, this is size when your eye can see all what happening on your screen. Its cool when you have big screen but dont forget guys, bigger screen-resolution, more weight for your graphic card.

in my opinion for only MK player the best solution is a 32" because the monitor stand takes up space and we increase the useful distance of the monitor, so by moving the monitor away from us we have to compensate with the size. In my opinion ideal monitor height is 40/45cm!!
@ramschasar7654

This shows why in the future VR is probably taking over. You do not have to decide which monitor you want and adjust the screen size to the game you play. Also a multiscreen setup can be installed via software without turning your living room into a spaceship. Sadly this probably takes a decade when you look at current VR-Headsets.

Your reason for not wanting to use the 42" as main monitor is Exactly the same reason that got me to this video in the first place. I am also confused, for competitive gaming I Love my 1440p monitor, but for single player games with badass graphics 42" is just not inmersive enough, let's say compare to a 55 or 60". Is funny, so many people ask for a smaller lg version of the C1 and now that's available it just doesn't make sense in terms of it's size. Too big for main desk monitor, too small to seat back on the couch several feet away. Also at 4k you don't really appreciate those details at that size unless you seat very close to the monitor, I guess that's where having that 55" or bigger comes in, although the price difference is huge. I am actually considering getting a refurbished C1 65" for $1600 at this point

Honestly a lot of shooters let you reposition the UI elements. You can just move them closer to the center of the screen and crank up the FOV and it is effectively like playing on a smaller monitor but just having added peripheral vision. Often it is called something like "adjust safe zone" or something similar to that. In Halo infinite I think it is called something like UI margins. Some games limit how far you can move the UI, but in a lot of shooters you can either mitigate or completely eliminate any negative impact of having the UI elements too far away. And gain a competitive advantage from being able to comfortably crank your FOV higher than you otherwise would be able to.

just picked up the LG 32GQ950B, yes its not OLED tech and yes it does not have the best HDR, but its awesome as a monitor for multiple things including gaming and i still love IPS panel colors at least as much as the oled ones. i already have a big oled tv with 120hz, as for a monitor i need something small(er) and preferably with a high(er) refresh rate. i guess when 4k oled monitors (not tvs) with 144 or more hz will become 'a thing' and affordable i will finally also go oled on the monitor side. I reckon it will happen in 2024 around the time the RTX 50 GPUs will come out.

I haven’t even watched this video yet, I am still on the ad page and paused the ad to write this. THIS video is EXACTLY what I needed. I came to KZbin to find some comparisons of these exact two displays because I own the GP950 currently and love it but have wanted to play some story mode games with a little bit bigger of a display and I also want to know if the GP950 has bad brightness issues or what not. Whenever I play red dead on it, when it becomes night time I feel like I can’t see squat on my screen! I want to know if that’s a game issue or my display’s issue. Anyways, can’t wait to watch this video. It’s literally the exact video I came to find today and it just popped up on my discover page first thing! Love you man!

That's awesome, thank you. I know the issue you mean, that's the black/contrast levels. Any dark scenes are a struggle on the GP950. If you want story driven and better quality, the C2 will blow you away. But the GP950 is very, very good.

@@SpawnPoiint thank you for the reply, this helps me a lot! I finished the video and I fall where you do! I really enjoy story mode games but I am heavier into FPS games and I need that smaller sized monitor. That’s great to know about the black light issues on the gp950. I have loved this monitor but this was the first time I have seen it struggle and it made me question it. This video was excellent! Keep up the awesome videos!

@@mashal4826 If you only play story line games and do not care about FPS games…the GP950 will do great without a doubt and perform amazingly but that 42” C2 OLED will be an even better experience all around and be more immersive. But it’s all about what you prefer, if you like a smaller display then the GP950 is perfect!

A monitor not coming with speakers I actually see as a positive. Lets face its, they are SH*T. and the monitor would cost more for having them. inbuild speakers in monitor should just die out imo. £20 ones from Ebay will sound better.

FYI a lot of games will let you move the UI elements closer to the center of the screen, just in case you weren't aware. You can typically do so by "adjusting the safe zone" in the settings or something similar. I think it is meant to compensate for overscan on old TVs, which is why it is called that. But it effectively just moves the UI elements closer to the center. Some games allow you to move it closer than others, but it is always worth doing if you find yourself struggling to see the UI. Also other games might just have straight up UI adjustment settings, either way, always worth looking through the settings.

The unspoken advantage with the C2 with PC is the ability to game in windowed/borderless windowed mode. Just game at 1440p windowed mode if fullscreen at 4k is too big. You'll also have extra screen real estate for other apps like browser and other utilities. You really can't do this with a tiny 27" 4k screen since it's too small!

I don't understand either why people never get this... If it weren't for the reflections I would have bought and mounted it to an arm ages ago - that way you can move it a bit closer for 4x21" productivity or fully extend the arm for sim games with desk-mounted joysticks while sitting further away or move it far back for 2K borderless (or fullscreen non-scaled/non-interpolated) FPS gaming... - owner of a 65" C9 and EIZO S-PVA monitors. Edit: You can also play ultrawide 32:9 (3840x1080) in the bottom and run Discord and OBS and whatever in the upper part ofc...

I got a 32" 1440p 165hz ips lg monitor that down samples 4k 60hz to 1440p and an LG CX 65" TV and I 100% prefer a monitor. Something about being close to the screen makes me way more into a game and look for the smaller details in them. For my setup 32" is a little to big and I'll probably go with a 27" when 4k 144hz monitors are more affordable. I honestly couldn't care less about the 4k part as I play everything in performance mode but I want vrr badly

I don't understand your logic of the 42 inch OLED being too big to game on a desktop when you rather game on your much larger TV. The problem is that you are sitting too close to the TV anyway. Why don't you try sitting a bit further back? You got plenty of room there.

Great video and break down of the pros and cons of the C1 TV vs the LG UltraGear PC monitor and why you personally prefer the PC gaming monitor over the C1 TV. 2 months ago I switched from a MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD 27" 1440p IPS 165Hz gaming monitor to a 48" C1 TV and I love it!!! My PC gaming experience is now like console gaming but without having to choose between fidelity mode vs performance. I do not play multiplayer so 120 fps is enough for me...what I love about the C1 are the size and quality of the picture. I love gaming on the C1 so much that I moved both my PS5 and switch dock from my 65" 4k HDR LED in the tv room to my desk, so now all my gaming is in one location. btw - I use a very large harvest dining room table as my desk so I have plenty of space for such a large monitor.

I am really torn between a 32 inch 4k monitor or the c2/c3 42 inch. Found a deal on a new C2 for 900 euros, but it went out of stock before i could go to the store. Maybe during Black Friday sales, some more pieces will pop up. If i go for the TV, it goes straight on an Ergotron HX arm, those pesky legs are rubbish.

Bought the GP950 earlier today so I can finally play PC games at better specs than 1080p60. I stumbled upon the C2 during my search for the optimal monitor, and thought it could be a great additional display for console gaming should I be able to afford one in the future. Glad to know I did choose a great monitor for desktop gaming, and that the C2 is indeed a magnificent OLED TV as shown by the specs :D

I've been using 43" 4K TVs as computer monitors since 2016. I think it's the sweet spot for 4K monitor use. My current TV is the Samsung Q60R 43". I tried the 43" QN90B, but fuzzy text and motion blur was a deal breaker. I'm now waiting for some reviews of the new Sony X85K 43". Thanks for a nice review. The key to succes doing FPS gaming on a TV like the C2 is to use a customer resolution and disable scalling so that it don't fill up the entire screen. Now, it will mean a bit lower resolution but no need to head turning to see that AWP guy hiding in Dust :) You can also use something like LG Companion to automatically wake the monitor and put it to sleep as the computer does the same thing. That also solves the problem of the remove turning on all LG TVs in the room.
