Have ordered based on this review and your excellent comparison video. Was tempted by the GS3 due to the fact it can be powered with a USB but suspect the sound won't have any oomph if it requires such little wattage. The GS5 only costs a little more so better safe than sorry 🙂 Thankyou for your help.

What is that LED text located in the center of the soundbar? Is there a way to turn that off? I like discrete soundbars with no light distractions

Unfortunately there's no way to turn it off. Make sure to check out my other videos and you will find the GS3 - there is no display there.

I have this now and I cannot figure out how to turn off the middle white led source light. It even stays on during standby... How did you do that? Thanks for such a thorough review!

Hey! Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately the only way to turn off the display is to unplug it from the outlet entirely

For those wondering, I reached out to Creative support and they also stated there is no way to turn this off ☹ - Speaker still sounds great though.

already have the GS3 but I am tempted to go for this one instead for a little bit more bass/oomph - I don't have quite enough space for speakers + a standalone sub at my desk so this might just be what I've been after.

6 Facts of the GS5 in comparision to GS3 - 1. LED in the middle CANT get off, everytime ON, also when the PC is shut down Reset off the Soundbar, updated drivers, nothing help, also not the PC-APP or Smartphone APP EVERY Picture on the Website from Creative, the Soundbar is on with RGB light, but not the LED-Display in the middle - 2. To bright middle LED / GS3, only colored mini LED on the right sight and not so bright - 3. USB Cable don´t have a disturbance or wavefilter (GS3 have) - 4. USB cable same length, but please not, it is not very long and not you have connect it in the middle of the soundbar, not like the GS3 on the right sight - 5. RGB light can be switch off, but when it is on, on the right and left sight, where the plastic covers are, they shine trouth, not perfect - 6. RGB light cant follow the music very good, but it is the same worst like GS3

Almost purchased this GS5 but had to sacrifice the RGB lights for Stage V2 with a subwoofer at a very small price increment.

@@viktors8239 In the UK, Creative website for the GS5 cost £59.99 + $10.00 for delivery for a total of 69.99. For Stage V2 on Amazon cost (from time of purchase) £94.99 + 15% discount with free delivery for total price of £80.74, saving £10.75. Now in terms of size, it's longer than GS5 but not too long. Fits well under my 27" desktop monitor. As for the subwoofer, it's pretty slim in size also an average user will have space under their desk for it. In terms of sound, the stage V2 peak is 160W compared to GS5 60W. So is the Stage V2 worth it in general compared to GS5? I let you decide.

Hi, how is that model for its sound quality? I got the Stage SE but I'm giving it to my mate as terrible sound quality on that thing! Can't even make out seat the co pilots saying in rally games it's so muffled. I'm kind of surprised with the quality of it not being as good as my 10 year old speakers!

The stage SE is awful I got! Terrible sound quality don't recommend the Stage SE version, i got mine for gaming but can't make half the vocals out so muffled the quality just isn't there in mine.
