Just started playing the first game and I really like it so far. I a fan of Studio Gibli so this was a dream come true for me to get to play in a world created by them. I will say that the save point mechanic is REALLY frustrating. At times I have to play for an hour before being able to save my progress. I hope that is improved in the sequel.

Looks at Let's play of Ni No Kuni II. Looks at IGN review. For once I actually agree with IGN. I won't speak gameplay, but the characters and plot are boring as hell with no actual character development. Only two exceptions to this are Mausinger and Vic and they are just good. Still there is one thing I disagree with IGN. The sidequests are boring as hell.

i like manga and anime but it does look a little childish.. does the narrative have any adult issues/themes to it? or is it as childish as it looks? Also does this have difficulty settings? looks a bit like a button spam to some extent at times, id like it to be difficult.

Well Studio ghibli WAS out of buisiness if you can say so, the creator had stopped the studio for a bit, he wanted to go into Pension. Some people from Ghibli are on the team Music char creator and some more if i remember, but they couldnt team up with ghibli because they where not around for a bit! Thats why. Now the Creator has started again, he finds it to boring not to WORK anymore :) Hope in the Next one they do it again!

The game is way too easy. Even on the fourth highest difficultly you can beat enemies 5-10 levels above your partys level. The battle system has depth but because there is no challenge it ends up being sort of a let down.

l had Ni No Kuni 2 Revenant Kingdom and l enjoyed the art style the graphics l enjoyed the story and combat and characters but l couldn’t progress in the game because of the world building aspect of the game l am just not very good with mechanic in the games and most games that l play doesn’t have that mechanic in the game

The Braken ai sucks, it literally gets random spells all the time and never uses the heal(the only good one) even if it is the only on equipped

I prefer turn based because it allows me to take my time making decisions. Real time, not so much because I typically don't like thinking on my feet. So the fact that the core game mechanic was changed really makes me nervous. Plus I am not sure about building your own kingdom. Those kinds of things never appealed to me unless they are very simple to maintain. Like I did love having my own base in Skies of Arcadia and it was really simple to build and after that I didn't have to do much to it. I am going to wait and see what my fav JRPG youtuber says about this game before I make my decision.

Zodia195 you have full control in a fight in a real time combat system...if youre good enough you could literally dodge every attack ever. its not exactly fair or realistic if you HAVE to get hit. i do like turn based games but i find it to be a little sub par.

Well, this ties into my own strengths and weaknesses. I am horrible at multitasking, which is what real time play makes you do. There's only one game series that I enjoy that is real time and that's KH (only played 1 and 2) because the controls are pretty easy to do, even though at first it was a struggle for me at first to get use to the controls when I first played the first game. I honestly don't mind getting hit since I always have a healers in my group and at some point I get so good in the game that I can defeat foes without getting injured. My biggest pet peeve in gaming is the Time mechanic and anything that allows me to take my time, I am always going to prefer. I've been playing JRPGs for almost 20 years now so I know what kind of things I prefer in a JRPG game. Been a gamer for almost 30 years.

Shame they are not partnered with Studio Ghibli, so you won't get those awesome, movie style cutscenes. That is probably one of the best things about the first game as it was so unique. Will I miss it? Yes, cause jrpg cut scenes using in-game engines are just so poorly animated.

For half a million subscribers you guys need to work on better audio editing. Almost every video has a noticeable jump in the audio where you spliced things together. Also, make sure you know how to pronounce the words you are reading. It's "kin-EH-tick, not "KYNE-eh-tick," and it's "eye-DILL-ick", not "eye-DEAL-ick".

Ah, I see. There are no objective standards of what is correct. You only need to be concerned with accuracy if you make enough money. Good to know. Last I checked I didn't suggest anyone should be thrown in prison, I made the (completely valid) observation that their audio jumps and mispronunciations have a negative impact on their overall video quality. What are they, friends of yours? I subscribe to their channel, I obviously like what they are doing. But just like Whatculturegaming needed to get one of their presenters to slow down when he talked, these guys need to do better quality control in this way.
