On Steam, of all the Tomb Raider and Lara Croft games available there, Tomb Raider (2013) is the highest review rating one of all with a 95% positive rating ("Overwhelming Positive"). Tied for third is the Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015) with a 93% positive rating ("Very Positive"). I have Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC (Steam version) and PS4 and Tomb Raider (2013) on PS4. The former is the first video game I played entirely using keyboard and mouse. I did it to get accustomed to playing that way, having transitioned to becoming more of a PC gamer than a console gamer today. For many, if not most people, it probably would be easier playing it with a controller.

There's a super good reason why Lara could've lost all her guns from the first game. For one, they were all taped up pieces of shit held together with glue and deer testicles, so it can be accepted they'd just totally break after a little bit, having only barely survived the first game yet easily destroyed in the second game. Second, customs and national laws (Especially those in Europe) would absolutely take away those guns from her. Third: In this game you're facing guys in body armor and with miltary tactics. That run down AK or even the garbage shotgun won't exactly stand up to a modern day weapon.

You wrongfully counted the voice recording of Jonah trying to get ahold of Lara as a sin. Jonah wasn't the one that recorded himself. It was one of Trinity's men that happen to catch it on his radio. I'd say the game is accurate. Immortally means your body can be destroyed, but you still exist in some form that's not an organic being. Then, someone can perform a ritual and you take the form of a new body. That's what happens to the enemies in the game. Invincibility means your body can't be damaged at all. Not even a papercut.

Other than that, nothing is "explained" or set in rules since immortality doesn't exist. Everything is up to anyone's imagination. Invincible means that you can't lose. It has nothing to do with being immortal. Maybe you meant indestructible, in which case you can't be harmed but you can die from old age for example. But again it doesn't exist so again it's up to our imagination.

1:16 actually they explained why Sam isn't in the game, but it's often overlooked by players as I only after completing it some 7 times realized that when you get the AK47 in the gulag, you unlock some personal notes of Lara at the psychologist sessions (you have to go into the note menu to play them) that her uncle Atlas set up with Anna (you read about that in a note in Croft Manor). In one of those sessions Lara says she's no longer on speaking terms with Sam because of Yamatai and Lara's apparent mental difficulties afterwards. Although it's pretty fucked up, first the psychologist says she needs to speak to her friends about their Yamatai experiences, when Lara says she has the psychologist immediately blames her for sticking in the past????..... so still a sin point for that one.

You know the final scene with the sniper killing Ana poses a lot of problems. Number one, it implies that the sniper was there the whole time considering there’s no way trinity would have learned of the mission failing. This also says that Ana and Konstantin weren’t aware of his presence, which means that Trinity didn’t fully trust them yet sent them to collect an immensely powerful artifact anyway. And since trinity went to the island from the first game, they are fully aware of how dangerous Lara is so why they didn’t kill her and Ana at the same time is just asking for further problems

Sin #22 An old money rich dude like Lord Croft fucking a much younger girl that's like 5 years older than his own daughter happens all the time in real life. sin#28 the language level game mechanic makes perfect sense. Word meaning, style, syntax, and grammar within the same language changes depending on the time period and the specific region or group of people; while Lara is fluent in those ancient languages, she needs to read a few easier documents from the same specific time period to get used to those languages to read a much longer and more difficult pillar. Adjusting to a language after reading a few dozen documents is more believable that the video suggesting that she learned an entire new language from reading documents when she should already know them. sin #36 Those guys are trinity, their whole existence is to cover up the secrets of the prophet which they deem heretical, so rigging bombs in the prophets tomb does make sense, not just to create action sin #115 if you actually read one of the game documents, it reveals that Anna manipulated Konstantin into believing that getting the divine source and saving Anna's life is god's will. So Anna is the selfish one, Konstantin is a victim that was manipulated by his older sister. sin#125 Anna asked Lara to join her just after ordering her men to kill Lara moments ago because Ann is not being sincere and is only trying to manipulate Lara. Lara had a gun and Ann didn't have shit except for her words, so her only choice is to try to talk her way out of that situation. sin#138 the rope Ascender tool is purchased using ancient coin that you find and dig up in game. It is not crazy expensive, and you can get it pretty early if you choose to get it before the other upgrades. There is enough coins in game you can dig up to purchase all upgrades.You would be retarded if you actually paid real money to get it. sin#144 ancient people didn't have modern light projectors nor would they have foreseen the existence of modern technology to take it into consideration when encrypting the atlas. sin#180 Lara yells no because she has more questions she wants to force out of Anna. Lara's pistol pointing was to intimidate Anna into answering. The sniper killing Anna obviously wrecks Lara's plans.

Health regeneration depends on what difficulty you choose, the 1st one does have that thing automatically while the others don't. Anyways, can you make a sin for the Baba Yaga DLC too? The final fight in it is more hardcore than the main campaign IMO.

2 bonus sins. 1. At the final boss fight with Konstantin, I was attacking him with the dual axes and no death animations but as soon as I starting playing cat & mouse..death animations. 2. The Deathless Ones are a knockoff of the Shambhala Guardians from Uncharted 2. Plus I think they used the same sound bytes.

Missed sin: Ending to this game with Ana and Lara walking through the snow is very similar to the scrapped ending scene from Tomb Raider: Underworld with Amanda and Lara walking through the snow, even with a similar conclusion - In Underworld's scrapped scene, Amanda tried to attack Lara and Lara shot Amanda dead. The game thinks I don't know about this ending, but I do.

One thing I found irritating was going to the effort of having characters dressed up in climbing gear and not using as my of it, like Jonah just holding the rope when Lara falls at the start or the rope clearly being tied to the gear loop on Lara's harness despite them not being rated to catch a fall

A missed sin; There is a massive game breaking glitch in the game. Around 40+ hours in, when in a research base, if you go back to a previous base camp after fighting some enemies, and then go back the enemies has respawned. However, a cutscene that is supposed to trigger to blow open a wall so you can get out, never occurs, so you will be stuck there, unable to progress. I found this bug, and had to replay most of the game (my back up was only like ten minutes into the game) so I had to replay basically the entire game until I got to that point again.

I had this video in my "watch later" playlist for literally a year waiting till I got around to finish the game. The plot holes/ stupid dialog you pointed out is that main reason why half way thought the game I started skipping almost all the cut scenes. It was pretty obvious what they were going for in the story, I wasn't interested, but I found the gameplay pretty fun with the combat falling short. Like you said, I've got poison arrows, what else do I need?

I hate how the rebooted series butchered Lara's character. Listen to the panic in her voice when she says 'Drop the book!' In a similar situation the old Lara would sardonically say ' Ah, ah, ah. Didn't your parents ever teach you not to steal things that don't belong to you? Tsk. tsk.' or something along those lines. It's funny how the original 'sexist' version of Lara is portrayed as stronger than the 'liberated, feminized' Lara. They wanted to show that Lara could be strong and feminine at the same time, only to weaken her character LMAO!! And feminists wonder why no one takes them seriously anymore.

No, this is literally just an entirely new team who wanted to make a game but because the game they wanted to create was basically Uncharted they thought "hmm, we'll get the Tomb Raider stamp for it to trick old fans into buying it by selling the lie that it's a prequel instead of a completely new character". They knew the game wouldn't sell without some pre-existing hype for it because the game is in fact so boring, uncreative, and cliché. So no, it has nothing to do with feminism, the TR franchise was taken to better sales, and the feminist stamp put on later to try and appeal to more people, to trick them. I don't mind what Lara looks like but her entire character being destroyed with her being nothing like the aristocratic, noble, Countess of Aberdeen who has been taught since she was a child to not let her emotions get the better of her........ The old Lara had emotions, such as we see in Anniversary when Lara kills a human for the first time she tries to wipe the blood from her hands in disgust at herself, but her upbringing let's her keep going so she can stop Natla. Aaaaand the idiots who never played any other games than 2013 TR and ROTTR say that Lara was unfeeling and inhuman in the old games because they've only ever seen some of the more tongue in cheek made parts and they think that's all there is and they can't see the satire and comedy the parts were made with.

Did you forget that this is an ORIGIN story. The point of this reboot series is to show HOW she become the badaas Lara Croft from the older games. To show her going from an innocent woman who never held a gun in her entire life, to a badass, double pistol wielding, battle-hardened archeologist. So once agin, ORIGIN story.

YOU CAN'T ADVERTISE A GAME AS A PREQUEL BUT THEN CHANGE *EVERYTHING* IGNORING EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THING FROM THE PRE-EXISTING FRANCHISE. Why did the Legend reboot work? Hm? Because they didn't fucking destroy who she was, and the game still had the puzzle elements and the wonder of finding untouched ruins and she was doing the job because she fucking loved it. Because she loves ruins more than people basically! She leaves those places alone after she has found what she wanted, because she doesn't want hundreds of tourists to crash the place after her. Now a disclaimer, I haven't yet played or seen anything of the new game, so this part will only talk about 2013 TR and Rise of the Tomb Raider. So, first off, Lara is nothing like a noble, there is nothing that would tell you that she is a fucking countess, or anything more than a simple archeology student. Rise of the Tomb Raider was a whole lot better than 2013 TR, but still a disappointment. You learn that Lara's dad was looking for a cure for death... But after finding it, and after it failed, he uuuuhhh... Kept... Trying to... Find it? Why? He didn't know his new waifu was dying and the only reason he was so obsessed with finding it was to save Amelia... So... Despite his new girlfriend who he supposedly cared so much about he was still living in the hopes that he could get his dead wife back? What an asshole. Neither of the games have proper boss battles either, the best fight in 2013 TR was against the giant oni, and... It's very short lived, you beat it, and then there's no more giant oni, extinction I guess. The fight against Mathias and Himiko was a piece of cake and nothing special. In ROTTR we have... The bear and Baba Yaga. Those were the most memorable fights. Not the fight against Konstantin, not the fights with the undead soldiers, about the fight against Konstantin btw that the concept was stolen from The Last of Us. But in that game it worked, the villain didn't magically see you through a wall like Konstantin did, and there is a good reason for why Ellie doesn't have weapons... While Lara supposedly loses all dozen weapons she owns EXCEPT for the axe? Just because Konstantin grabs her rifle. Mhm. Okay I actually have ran out of time, I gotta go do my job as a fucking baby sitter for cats, 3 adults and 5 kittens... In summary the reboot can't be called a prequel because it changed every aspect of the game, all of it. No actual proper tombs for the most part, boring enemies (I want back my giant centaur statues that could turn you into stone and demon beasts that aren't just humans who were cursed with immortality), boring surroundings for the most part again, boring story line, boring main character... But, this is only when compared to old school Tomb Raider. If the games weren't Tomb Raiders, I would love them. The story, if taken out of context and it wasn't a reboot of Tomb Raider, would be fine. Like seriously they're not bad games in general, they're bad Tomb Raider games. I wouldn't be so vehement about them IF THEY JUST FUCKING MADE THEIR OWN FRANCHISE INSTEAD OF DIGGING LARA CROFT OUT OF HER TOMB AND GIVING HER A BIT OF PLASTIC SURGERY AND NECROMANCING HER BACK TO LIFE WITH BRAIN DAMAGE THAT TURNED HER INTO A DIFFERENT PERSON. Tomb raider reboot trilogy(TR, RTR, STR) were best games i have seen. There are around 35 Lara Croft games before reboot trilogy. ( see Stella's website about TR video games) There are 43 tomb raider dark horse comics. About trilogy, TR 2013 (survivor is born) We got realistic human figured lara croft young and strong. She saved yamatai and sam It's definitive edition was also great. RTR (Explore the legend within) Lara is best adventurer, Explorer, archaeologist, athlete and tomb raider. Though her image was spoiled as media discredited her, she saved world by not letting divine source into hands of trinity. Jonah was good friend. But ana betrayed her. Though she was lover of Richard but she was working for trinity. 20 year celebration was good. 4 DLCs were good STR ( Lara is now predator !) Lara knows trinity very well and her expedition/adventure at Peru was great. After long time we get to know that legendary creatures are still alive and ancient puzzles were still working. 7 DLCs were great. See, my point of playing dlcs is... We get more time to spend with lara ! Great games specially thanks to developers and lara for being so perfect and cute rather than British terminator lol. How many tomb raider fans agree with me please reply !

I could easily add about 50 more sins to this POS game... My absolute biggest gripe? Lara can jump huge distances and can grapple up smooth walls with god-like finesse... when the devs WANT her to... but when they DON'T want her to she can't even jump a 3 ft fence. The game keeps you hemmed in tightly. This game is for the "kiddies under 12" set because anyone above that age just cannot suspend the required amount of belief to make the game enjoyable.

Yeah, even in Underworld, you cant explore the Manor itself because it had been blow-up, never the less, the game give you a Manor level post the explosion and undercover some secrets, and not speak of the previous games.
