In terms of hidden/secret characters, MK is easily my favourite fighting game series. I love the colour swap Ninjas and over the years they were well fleshed out and easily distinguishable from each other despite the obvious visual "consistency".

Did you know about the EJB secret menu when you made this video? I remember hearing in a Ed Boon interview, saying there was still one secret left in MK 1, 2 and 3 as well. It seems that secret was the EJB menu. Also, recently, someone found a special game over screen in MK 2.

This is a first for me as well I didn't know about any secret menu other than the cheat one on mk1 but it was for the Sega if I remember right... or just never figured out the code for my snes 😂

@@OdinSmilesRavensLaugh72051 it was just for the arcade games. And the code worked for 1, 2 and 3. Look up EJB menu code. It's quite insane how long it is, and it's crazy that anyone was even able to figure it out. And there is even an exploit with the EJB menu to set MK3 to freeplay.

I'm from Russia and in mid 90s in book shops there were books (in Russian) with guides and hints for various PC games. I own a few of them. I think most guides from these books were compilations and translations of whatever info the authors could find in the English-speaking part of internet (in Russia internet was in the early stages of development at the time: few websites, high prices, unaccessible in some places). The guide on MK2, after describing Jade, Smoke and Noob Saibot, mentioned Pong as a rumored super secret fighter. Quote (translated from Russian): "It is rumored that that there is one more character - PONG, and you can fight him only if you win 250 matches. But there is a speculation that one who reaches the final victory will be able to play some game called "Atari". This paragraph was probably the result of the author's mistranslation of some description of the Pong game hidden in MK2 (I'm not really good in MK lore so I don't know if it's fake or real). The author seemingly thought that Pong was a character's name and didn't know that Atari was a video game company.

Oh I remember the EGM issue of Nimbus Terrafaux haha. I tried so hard to unlock him on the Genesis port haha. I was 10 years old. Remember, back then we didn't have internet to look these things up. Was a April fools issue of the magazine. I still have that EGM issue to this day. Good memories.

So at that count we need a purple female, a pink male, black female, brown female, white female, silver female and blue male. I say we should canonize Hydro and use him as the blue male ninja, he’d need a different power set though. If we canonize Ruby as well we can alter her palette to be more orange-colored than anything but we’d still need an orange male which I guess could be Komodai (or Komodai can just be chameleon’s name).
