I loved Kotor both of them to be honest but 1 was better compared to 2, I also loved Neverwinter Nights, I loved DA: Origins, I loved Mass effect. But Bioware is dead now in all but name and I doubt we'll ever see RPG's of that level again apart from companies like CD Projekt Red. I have a lot of nostalgic memories of those games, but it is as it is with all this shit, I also have Nostalgia for Morrowind and even Oblivion, Skyrim in my view is sub par compared to them, shit ends, people leave, corporate world and all.

No, but to be fair, EA's aggressive schedules and milestones had Casey by the balls throughout the whole project. Did it ever occur to you that maybe Casey decided they didn't have time for the usual peer review because they HAD to get something done quick? Usually the peer reviewing involving the different writers implies the content in question will be revised and iterates upon until it's good, but to do that Casey would have to convince Greg and Ray to postpone the release and instead they took a big risk and released it with what they could get done in time, and unfortunately it didn't pay off.

That terrible feeling of sadness when you realize we won't see a good Dragon Age Game ever again. Origins: 10/10 GOTY RPG. In fact it's so good i would put it right next to such classics as Morrowind, Deus Ex, Fallout 2, Vampire: The Masquerade or Baldur's gate 2, one of their previous creations. II: Lazily made JRPG. Main protagonist, companions and story were okay-ish(At best)but everything else sucked major dick. Inquisition: A weird combination of DA:II and Skyrim for SJWs with absolutely awful PC Controls. Slight improvement over II, but nowhere near as good as DA:Origins was.

To me its funny that you say that, cause i personally hated Dragon Age Origins like no game ever before. ^^ Mostly because, even on the normal difficulty, this game gets so damn frustrating if you are not playing as a magician, the balance between different classes is just total crap imo. There are only a few (relatively) overpowered spells, effective enough to beat the enemies in the game by spamming them all over again and that also after just a few hours of playing. The loot is mostly nothing more than garbage and without constantly having a few dozend health drinks in your inventory (which are not that easy to get), it gets basically impossible after time. Also the characters were somewhat forgettable, the fantasy setting as generic as it can get and the story... I dont even remember a single detail about it. xD But then again, I didnt quiet play it to the end, Im not a big fan of these point-and-click-type of rpg's with their indirect control of the characters in general and maybe Im also just a noob in this game but god, did I not enjoy it... But thats all just my opinion and nothing more and Im glad that you had a way better experience with the game (;

Peter Parker Modding community is your best friend in term of balance. Don't get me wrong, I'm well aware of mages simply being too OP, which is something they haven't fixed in their later games, but it wasn't world-shatteringly awful. I wholeheartedly disagree on characters being forgettable, as well as the story. In terms of setting, yeah, it's their 1st game in a new RPG IP in late 2000s - Not many games had iconic art direction back then _(In context of RPG games.)_, especially if they're 1st in the series.

Well, I should have told you before that I played the game about 3-4 years ago the last time, so that might be an important factor to why I dont remember these things very well, although I do actually when it comes to the story and characters of SW KOTOR 1, a game which I also played around that time (and just once), so i dont know... Maybe I forgot that much because there were several protagonists to choose from, instead of just one distinctive hero, like in most other games. And the setting, I mean an underground city inhabited by dwarfs, elfs living in a tribe deep in the forest, things like that I have seen just way too often in these games but maybe fantasy worlds have to be that way. I know, you didnt mean to disagree on that one but you claimed that most first games in new RPG-series had similar problems back then, but I really dont think thats the case with Mass Effect 1, where Bioware suddenly introduced literally a whole new galaxy with many different races, planets, technology and a story that really kicks in, and leaves a lot of very memorable impressions on you, as well as the extremely well written characters like Wrex, Liara or Garrus. And all of this was also very original by Sci-Fi-standards. And the last thing I wanna say is, of course there is a mod for every problem you could encounter in a PC-game these days, but I think mods should mainly have the purpose of making a game better and not to make a bad game good, playable, balanced, etc. Such major improvements/fixes should always come from the developer-side in the form of official patches. I use lots of mods in a lot of different games but always after I already played the singleplayer once, as the developers intended it to be, and only to further extend and enhance the fun I already had, so naturally with DAO I wasnt really willing to search for a mod and learn how to install it before doing so, and this only to fix a problem which should never have existed in the first place, especially not in a game made by such an experienced, prestigious developing-team, before Bioware became what it is now...

The BioWare that gave us Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Neverwinter Nights is gone. And they're not coming back. Mass Effect 3 was a great game, but ultimately failed to deliver on what the entire trilogy had promised us: An evolving story with vastly different outcomes and consequences based on the choices made over the course of three massive games. What did we initially get? Three almost identical endings with different colors, some bullshit open ending with an old guy talking to a child and no closure on what happened to Shepard, the rest of his comrades and the rest of the galaxy WHICH WE SPENT DOZENS OF HOURS SAVING!!! Either they were completely out of time in the end or the team was already in such a bad state that they simply couldn't do it anymore.

Does anyone remember back when Final Fantasy XIII and Mass Effect 2 came out near the same time 6 years ago? Remember when ME2 was like the hottest thing and FFXIII was being seen as a catastrophe? I feel it's gonna be the other way around. Final Fantasy XV could become a major hit (just commercially) while Mass Effect: Andromeda will be a joke in comparison.

I am sure EA is to blame at some point and to some degree for this mess....but they had 5 years for ME:A and they came up with something that is far less in quality than ME1 ( comparative) so Bioware or the team is definitely more responsible ... everyone has deadlines and they had 5 year to work on concepts and plan it out
