The old one is not really a proper jump scare for the literally only actually scary character, yea it has a lot of personality but it’s not really scary because you already expect because it’s so slow, when comparing the old vs new for this character imagine you have your backed turned and suddenly the jump scare happens. I have to say I like the new jumpscare a lot better as the old ones you would just get grabbed and then appear back, but with the new it adds a bit more of an animation to it. I also think that Theodore Peterson’s (The Neighbour) wardrobe jumpscare is a lot scarier as he looks through the crack opens the door like a villain and proceeds to grab us it also looks like he grabs our neck 😨😱

Mayor: I’m pretty sure the new one implies he strangled Quinton. Neighbour: He also strangles us! While I admit, Mr Peterson, this man is breaking into your house but along with the Mayor, I doubt murder is necessary. Haven't looked at anything Hello Neighbour related in a couple years, but sometimes i forget that this is a horror game franchise. These jumpscares don't really feel like jumpscares at all. Tbh I know nothing about Hello Neighbour 2 because I only found out about it now but I *assume* that these characters are meant to be scary, but to be honest these ''jumpscares'' just feel like annoyed parents. The only thing remotely scaring me is the strong eye contact and body grabbing but thats just a personal autism thing other than horror design. No hate to this game though. Its just that sometimes I wish Hello Neighbour was more of a psychological horror. The art style they have currently is perfect for it.

I like in the new ones, most of them are still good people, you are just trespassing and stealing their shit. The cop is just doing his job and taking you down. The baker is still nice but seeing you scuttling with her stuff blows her lid (hence the raising you from the ground part). The huntsman is warning you. The mayor is like "caught ya, ya whippersnapper". He ain't mad, but he gotta be taking you to court. Neighbor is still the Neighbor.
