Haha I love the thumbnail choice. Also that was another nasty starting quest row! As far as the last quest since it created a rare impossible to complete scenario I'd say the trait does not apply since there was no other quest. Will have to update the FAQ to include this specific scenario. Thanks for the play through!

Backed this and can't wait to play. Already have and love Cursed. Giving my new copy to my son for a Christmas in February gift. For the Shadow Regicide card, would the cards used to defeat the mission count towards the exhausted pile since he didn't have any otherwise? Or was choosing not to count those and not get the perk the correct play?

I'll have to double check the rules to see if I specified any specifics on the "on completion" traits but the rules for sure say once a quest is completed everything on it gets exhausted so I'd consider it like a item chest in Cursed!?, where the quest is completed, and those cards would be exhausted/in the random pool you get the free perk from.

Though you didnt have enough, I would think you still could have sent to the last quest because you did complete a quest on that turn which revealed it. Granted not enough to complete it though.
