Hello, I feel really help from your lecture, and I have one question about Compton, so what do you think the Compton shape would like when we are doing the survey in the area of high content of Thoron? Did there would exist an apparent peak or valley caused by Compton scatter? Looking forward to your answer. Thanks very much.

The second graph "photons from a material sample" is wrong. Self absorption doesn't cause the full energy peak to broaden, only the number of photons, i.e. the peak height. There are other reasons for the broadening of the f.e. peak.
