Julian you are great in romantic music. I love this work. It is played so beautifully.

Ravina's best piece, in my opinion--pleased that you've finally covered it. Captures the joys of childhood in equal measure to the tragedy of that childhood being extinguished. Played excellently, by the way, and a real treat to have a life performance as well.

Wow I didn't know that Ravina lost his son. He was born in 1818 and lost his son in 1870, so at 52 y old, his son was probably in his 20s given that people had children early in those times. Must have been quite painful, we definitely feel it in the music

it is really tragic, and still intresting to hear such a personal moment from the composer
