I have this exact scope, mounted on a 2010 Gamo Bigcat 1200. Excellent scope for the money! Hit a wine cork @ 70yds, and won $25 on a bet!

Great job Rick on the introduction to setting up new air rifle and scope! So I hope the scope stays consistent and you don't have to use your expensive Hawke to get good groups. The Gamo Arrow reviews I've seen the rifles seem to prefer heavier pellets for accuracy even though they are not a power house. After you find an accurate pellet at 20 yards, Is it important to test the pellet at different yardages to see if the pellet remains the most accurate?

Setting my scope, I optically center using a mirror. Mount and fire a shot close range. Adjust if i have to and back out to 10, adjust again. Finally 20-30 yards and fine tune it.

Really liked this video. Nice stuff about the scope installment while doing it.. Yea. Not really need to go into nitpicking with scope installment when shooting close/mid range with airguns. I've also just eyeballed the vertical line straight with the profile of the airgun, and it has worked fine. Mostly just shooting my Sig Virtus rifle, which ain't no target rifle but surely is fun to shoot. Scope sighted in at 25 meters for cheap RWS Hobby pellets. The Hobbys ain't the most accurate, but works well up to just that 25m range. JSB pellets performed slightly better, but are noticeably more expensive...

Fun little plinker but wish the HS was adjustable. 10 grains run hot at 930-950 and the JSB 13’s run a little slow low 800’s. If only JSB offered a 11-12 grain pellet. I did try some HN pointed pellets that are 12 grain but accuracy was poop. I found this gun to be pellet picky. Also occasional fliers with all pellets. Like the video i can hit 2-3 in same hole and the next 1-2 will be 1” away.

high or medium mounts for a 50mm objective? what those you use with the 40mm?

JSB MONSTER EXACT 13.4 DID GREAT IN MINE

I should try those (i do have them) Currently i like the 10 grain JSB’s .. about 940 fps. Red Fires came in hot at over 1100 FPS and are all over the place. Id like to find a 11-12 gr pellet hoping for that magical 850-890 fps.

@@FirstStateAirgunI forgot i posted this. So yea the 13 JSB’s run great. Run right around 800 Fps. I did try some H&N pellets in the 11-12 grain range but they were all over the place. This gun is probably the most pellet picky out of the other guns i have. Actually as i was posting this i just remembered i also have the 13.4 redesigns and they are the most accurate in my Avenge X low 800’s .. might be perfect in the Arrow. Be back for a 2nd update haha

Aging eyes need optics for sure. My price point for Airguns is $100 maximum.

so, you didn't even use the pin on bottom of rear mount that locks into the gun..not needed? just got the scope and it's recessed, didn't know what to do about that

That gun was shooting pellets into one hole before you adjusted the scope. Seems simple to me....That scope is no good.

It s not the scope or pellets, I have a .22 Arrow and it s not consistent. It s just a low quality air gun and waste of money

My Arrow was a tack driver. Sat a while and all of the sudden could not even find my target. maxed my scope trying to get it zeroed. Eventually sent it back and Gamo exchanged it. This gun need’s heavier pellets. 10 gr minimum.
