I visited Gandia in November. Such a lovely place with friendly local people. The couple who invited you to stay with them sound like lovely kind people. I agree with you that we can become cynical however if we are positive with a good vibe we attract good people. You met this couple because you have a good vibe.

I moved here three years ago. I work remotely. It's an awesome place. I'll be sad when the time comes to leave.

Can you tell me, is it way too busy near the end of August or is still enjoyable?

I haven't been there during that time of the year, but from what I hear is quite busy during the summer months. Plus, the heat could be a bit much 😅 I'd probably recommend visiting during May-June or September 😊 🏖️
