In this evocative song, Tejaji, a local deity who originated in the Nagaur district of Rajasthan is praying to Lord Ganesh and Goddess Sharada. Tejaji presents offerings of Ladoos, Dal ka Churma, Pan Patasha, and Bakla as tokens of his devotion, yet the deities remain seemingly distant, not accepting his gestures.
Undeterred, Tejaji greets the new dawn with renewed determination. With the break of day, he awakens early and offers his tokens once again. This time, his devotion finds a receptive response, and the deities embrace his offerings.

Gajanand aanand karo ji karo sampath main seer
(Tejaji prays - O Gajanand, find joy and solace within, O Lord,)
Ram jaane karo sampath main seer
(Find joy and solace within, O Lord,)
Dushman ka sajan karo nuth jimadeva kheer
(Calm the foes, and we will offer you Kheer (Sweet rice pudding))
He he
Pehle gajanand simru, saathiji mhara pehli toh
(First I remember Lord Gajanand, o dear friend)
Pehle ji gajanand simru, saathidu mhara pehli ji
(First I remember Lord Gajanand, o dear friend)
Paache toh ji simran khedali devi sharada
(Then I remember our village goddess Sharada)
Kai tharo karelo Dhundyali bholi hi jaman kai toh
(O innocent mother, what will Gajanand do if you worship him?)
Odh phoolda chal bhaag main
(Offer the flowers, come on now)
Kai ji khahreche he dheepan jana laadti
(O boy, what will happen from your worship)
Kai ji karelo dhundyali nanha ji ladla kai toh
(O dear Tejaji, what will Gajanand do if you worship him?)
Kai ji kayerare Khedali Devi Sharadi
(What will your village goddess do if you worship her)
Riddhi siddhi karte gajanand, bholipan jaman re toh
(Lord Gajanand bestows prosperity and wisdom, O pure mother)
Ukhe ukhe ukhe
(O is that so)
Hoi riddhi siddhi sahi dhese he dheepan thaki ladli
(Lord Gajanand bestows prosperity and wisdom, O dear boy)
Kai ji ha kare ji dhundhyalo mhara phool kunwar ji kai toh
(O dear Tejaji, what will Gajanand do if you worship him?)
Kai ji kai rache khedali devi sharadi hai re
(What will your village goddess do if you worship her)
Dhundhyale ke laddoo bhejdara hai jake thoda dhundhyale ke
(Offer some laddoos to Gajanand)
Devi ke devi ke ji chadhavo jala khapan dal ka churmo
(And offer some dal ka churmo for the Devi)
Kai ji ho kareji dhundhyalo nanhaji mhara kai toh
(O dear Tejaji, what will Gajanand do if you worship him?)
Kai ji kareje khedali devi sharadi
(What will your village goddess Sharada do if you worship her)
Ude ji laddoo bhi bhedeje phir deke thamaje ude toh
(Offer those laddoos in the temple)
Ude ji bheli kyun se jala ka pan dal churmo
(Offer the dal churma for the devi)
Chadhaje ha laddoje dhundhyalo nanhaji mhara tejaji
(Offer some laddoos to Gajanand O my dear Tejaji)
Koi deto ji la yi deja khedali durga sharadi a ha re
(Someone come and make the offering for goddess Sharada)
Dhundhyala baatudi bhi chur ha va pan chur bakla
(You can also give some wheat balls to Gajanand)
Doongar ki, Jaipur ki ji gudiyape laadu pan dal bakla
(Carry the laddoos and wheat balls to the hilltop temple near Jaipur)
Dhundyale ke laaduda chunva re nanya pan mhara dhundyala ke
(Lets make the offerings for our Gajanand, O dear Tejaji)
Jaipur ka re chadhavo nanha pan dal ka churmo
(Make the offerings of dal ka churmo in Jaipur)
Aankhyan ti bhaag te phadyo che re dhoop tha makhi aankhya toh
(Through destiny’s grace, a new morning rose)
Aankhyan ji khuli kyunre dhoopate baitho jat ka
(Our eyes opened to the morning sun)
Haata ji o thal bhi ab lyaje tejaji ladla haata ji
(Now, get the offering’s plate along with you dear Tejaji)
Haata ji thali lyaje tejaji jal ko baivdo
(Get the offering’s plate and some water)
Ek main ghee duji chalo di di pan koi aagto
(Keep the necessary materials in the offerings)
Teeji toh teeji toh e bhijkya re baaka ki toh jal baivda
(Keep the water along too)
Ek ji je dal churvayo tejaji ladlo ek ji
(Tejaji asked to make the wheat balls)
Duje toh ji jaikhale tejaji bare nikalya
(After the arrangements Tejaji arrived outside)
Godhi toh kud gi seedyo se ravat par dhulo godhi toh
(The horse trotted onto the platform, kicking up a swirl of sand)
Godhi neeri pahido se tejaji padh hi baithga
(Tejaji then mounted on the horse)
Thodi ji thodi ji godhi ne daato tejaji laadla thodi ji
(O Tejaji, the horse is swirling with the sand, get it in control)
Ghodi ne ji baindyoje tejaji badka thoitaka
(Then Tejaji tied the horse)
Phar phar ji laadudo bhi dego ravat par churo phar pharta
(And Teja ji with all his devotion, twirled and offered the laddoos)
Phar phar ji ha dege je he dheepan dal ka churma
(O dear boy, he also then offered the dal ka churmo)
Phar phar ji phar phar ji lai bhi bhujava tejaji ladla phar phar ji
(And Teja ji with all his devotion, twirled and offered the laddoos)
