Nottebhom was a German citizen, ICJ, in its ruling, reinforced Nottebhom's Nationality as a German Citizen despite applying for citizenship in liechtenstein at a crunch moment before ww2 broke out. ICJ took all the circumstances and nottebhom's intention for the application of his Leinchtenstein citizenship and resultantly ruled against his demand for sorting reparations from Guatemala.
