I knew about the wonderful French silent serials for the big silver screen at the time of WW1, then the Hwood talkin' ones in the 1930s and '40s (Mr Moto, Charlie Chan, etc.), but I'd never heard so far of some U.S. TELEVISION SERIES made as soon as in 1942! Does any of you, guys, know how many American families already owned a TV set at the time of WW2? 🤔 Ty all in advance, folks!

Only a few thousand Americans owned a TV during World War ll. The technology was in its infancy and even if you were wealthy enough to afford one, very few new sets were being produced because of the war effort. By 1950 TV ownership had grown to nine percent of all households and by 1960 90 percent.
