Haitian gang leader Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier, who has acted as a spokesman for the gang alliance, said he will not accept the presence of Kenyan police troops in Haitian territory.
Video showed Barbecue leading his rifle-hoisting followers whose faces were obscured by hoods or balaclavas.
“If since they’re not Haitian and they’re on Haitian soil, I consider them to be invaders,” said Barbecue. “We’ll fight with our lives to defend our country and the integrity of our country.”
