This song is what really helped me turned my addiction around from the fear of the past to the joy of my future. Still early in, but I'm 5 months clean and sober after 20 years of being a mess of a man. I hope there are others out there that find hope in music and it pushes you to feel better about yourself.

These live performances are nothing less than staggering. You can not NOT look at the pure energy here. Gosh Dave, please do a version of Achilles like this sometime. Thanks for these early xmas presents!

I’m seeing them live in august, and Achilles is the song that means the world to me but I have no idea how they’d logistically do it live, because it’s him talking to himself
@TacoTimePablo2 жыл бұрын
@@Mads-zo1ic they've used a sample in the live recording of The Man Himself, in this same series. They could do the same here, or simply get a second singer. Or slightly adjust the arrangement so Dave can do both parts. A little creativity can solve it I'm sure.

Not sure if they use the same setlist through their whole tour but I saw them a few weeks ago in the us and they didn't play Achilles 😔 We did get: magnolia, the heart is a muscle, fear and trembling, let me down easy, and a lot from angel in real time

My absolute favorite song, closely followed by Say Yes to Life and the man himself. Many people attribute their own meaning to songs, myself included, but there's also that of the songwriter. I don't mean to presume, but I really seem to feel the growth in life from then to now, and I'm all there for it!

Quit honking your horns There's five other lanes And I am king of them all I'm faster than light With my fists in the air If my body's alive Then my soul's unaware In braving the last of This terrible wine I've savoured the last And I've kissed it goodbye And there's no kind of right way To do what I'll do But I'm king of the earth With impossible blood On this 3rd of June Hold on officer, I know That I'm a danger to myself And it shows 'Cause I'm on the other side of the law There's no way tonight As far as I know That heaven will take me So I'm staggering home Show me the way Ah, show me the light Hey, I'm drunk, but I'm ready To kick some ass tonight Still honking those horns? Yeah, just drive around 'Cause your all being ignored Deadpan and bright As I flip you the bird I'm a pain in the ass Yeah I'm a real piece of work Just waving my arms like Some terrible mime And shaking my ass 'Til they kiss it goodbye Just show me the right things That I didn't do Oh, enlighten me now With impossible love From the former you Just tell everyone I know What I did, I did for us And in haste 'Cause I'm terrified of dying in vain There's no way tonight As far as I know That heaven will take me So I'm staggering home Wretched and wild All glory and trash Yeah, I'm drunk but I'm ready To kick some fuckin' ass There's no way tonight As far as I know That heaven will take me So I'm staggering home Show me the way Ah, show me the light Yeah, I'm drunk but I'm ready To kick some ass tonight No way tonight As far as I know That heaven will take me So I'm staggering home Fire of my loins Ah, light of my life We're vastly outnumbered Every motherfuckin' time
