Gangasagar Mela 2023 - The second largest human gathering in the world after Kumbh Mela.
This huge Hindu Festival in India is held once a year where the Ganges meets the Bay of Bengal on the island of Gangasagar / Sagar.
I travelled from Kolkata to visit Gangasagar Mela and filmed my experience.

Alex, just watched this 9+ mins clip. I was expecting this to be much longer. But I enjoyed it. As I mentioned earlier you need the guts and the will power to get to such places in that incredible crowd and with very basic facilities...Living in India, we have not done that.... credit goes to you and to your team. The drone and the sadhu's shots are really good. Great !

Feel free to come to India and make videos of the greatest gathering of pilgrimage from all corners of India including foreign countries. Its very positive that you respect our Indian cultures and Hindu religious festivals. I also like Jesus and respect your religion. We have been taught in our school to respect other religions. @@AlexOuthwaite I would rather suggest you to read books written by Swami Vivekananda about Indian vedanta. In fact Swami Vivekanada is the only person who has made bridge between Western and Oriental people especially highlighting and enlightening the religion of Hinduism among Western people. Earlier Western people had a negative attitude towards Hinduism considering Hinduism is full of enchanting mantras and rituals. Swami Vivenkananda even said it is better to play football than to learn Gita. He has spoken Hinduism in eloquent languages which is easy to understand by all humans irrespective of his caste, creed or religion. Welcome to the world of liberal concepts of Swami Vivekananda about Hinduism.

Ganga Sagar is a pretty good place to visit but during Ganga Sagar Fair, the place is too much crowded. Hindu pilgrims from all over India, Nepal and Bangladesh visit this place during this time. Your video is awesome covering the place during the fair. Its all about Hindu belief that taking a holy dip during the time when the Sun's rays begin to turn around from Tropic of Capricorn that is in Southern hemisphere towards Tropic of cancer that is in Northern hemisphere will erode away the sins which we committ during our lives. The exact time is little earlier than this day i.e 15th of January every year but it is close to the exact day as per scientific calculation. My request to you to make a video of Sandakfu where we can see both the ranges of Kanchen Junga and Mount Everest. Any help from me will be gracefully served right from booking of guest house to car booking along with fooding. If you need my contact details? I will give you. Im giving guarantee to you that no one can serve you better than me in this respect.
