I want to take this rainy opportunity to comment on who are my three favorite Korean actresses, because my choices go against the typical Korean tendency to select only the most beautiful, trendy, and glamorous actresses as favorites. My third favorite actress does fall into that traditional category of beautiful, glamorous, and trendy. The name of the actress is Park Gyu-Young, who is beautiful but not in the classically pretty manner that most Koreans prefer. Park Gyu-Young is trending now due to the phenomenal success of Celebrity and other Netflix shows she has appeared in, but what I like the most about Park Gyu-Young is that her good looks are unique, and she is a modest and interesting person, who does not clamor for attention like so many other self-centered Korean actresses. My second favorite actress is Kim Ga-Eun, who is not extremely popular, even though she has acted in many Korean shows and films. What I like the most about Kim Ga-Eun is that she speaks with a very noticeable but unique Korean accent. I don't know where she got that accent from, but I find the way she pronounces Korean words to be charming. She is also an exceptionally good actress who I consider beautiful, but not in any pretentious or made-up way. I find her acting to be sincere and not embellished or over the top like so many other more popular Korean actresses, who are just always seeking public attention. My favorite Korean actress is HAN JI-MIN, who apart from having the same name as me, HAN, possesses an exceptionally interesting personality. She excels at comedic performances (comedy is harder to perform than tragedy or melodrama). I find her comedic performances to be extremely funny and entertaining. Even though Han Ji-Min is middle-aged, there is a perpetual liveliness to her acting indicating a person who is "forever young." It is abundantly clear from all the charitable work that Han Ji-Min does, that she is an incredibly good person, and this shows in her acting. Han Ji-Min deserves a lot of praise for her excellent work, and she is a breath of fresh air from all the many Korean actresses who are so self-absorbed and have unlikeable personalities. I encourage everyone to follow Han Ji-Min for embodying all the best artistic, social, and moral values that Korean Society has to offer. HAN
