@@nickster1059 with my monostone style .. Like I said, people usually go quiet when this track comes on. That's the only compliment he needs.. "While they be losin the race tryin to chase mass appeal..." Did u not understand the message of the song? 😉. Definitely also recommend "Hip Hop Fury" by GZA (1999) for a similar track that makes people quiet. You'll love it! And I've been to Amsterdam. Cool city. Nice people. Very trustworthy. I'm American from Los Angeles. I remember this one cab driver I had in Holland back in 1999 put on Kool Mo Dee in his CD player when he realized I was American. The way that DJ premiere and RZA take clips of Jazz and turn it into something truly special is amazing

I love this era of music…real hip hop, rock, country, etc.. it was pure and genuine. I’m a sound old but I hate today’s music…grew up in the 80s and 90s and there is nothing that compares to those decades musically. If it is somewhat appealing it has a 80/90s element to it. My generation Xrs looked back to the 70s for inspiration and the Zs look back to the 90s…full circle. Thanks Gangstarr for making a classic.
@JohnEyubehdabron Жыл бұрын
I agree with you 100%! We were FORTUNATE to have witnessed the BEST ERA OF JUST ABOUT EVERY GENRE OF MUSIC, INCLUDING HIP-HOP! It is hard to believe that, this young generation cannot come up with a new genre, that would shake the world. Just like you, l lost interest in main stream media, from the mid 90s. Ever since then, l just cannot find anything new that impresses me. Its the same predictable OVERATED artists all over the place. Right now, l think l may have found a new genre of music, that l can vibe with, after almost 15 years of disappointment. Am talking about Afrobeats. I enjoy it, because it is refreshing and has a lot of new artists. They remind of how Hip-Hop artists came out of the underground, and shook the world of music. l kid you not. For the first time in decades, l now have on my list, more than 50 Afrobeats artists (and still counting) that impresses me. Now time will tell, if Afrobeats will still be strong in the next 10 years.

I'm a California dude and I'm sorry, but NY hip hop dominates any other region, especially during this 90s era. Pac, Dre, EZ, Snoop, etc have some great tracks, but doesn't compete with Nas, Guru, Rakim, AZ, Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Big L, Biggie, etc etc - so many legends that were leagues above the rest.
