I'm not a military man. However, I have read "War Is A Racket." This interview was very informative. Can't wait to get a copy of Gangsters of Capitalism. When Jonathon gets to the part where he's talking about the history with China, The Art of War by Sun Tzu came to mind. "Know your enemy better than you know yourself." The fact that most Americans do not know our true history could prove to be a great detriment to our society in the near future. If we don't know where we came from, what has happened, and why, it is going toe very difficult to know where we are going, why, how to get there, and how to solve the many issues along the way. As of now, October 11, 2022, with the state of foreign affairs as they are, the future looks a lot like the closing decade of the Major General's life. I'm afraid this time around, the outcome of the war will not be so favorable to US, especially if that war is fought with each other.

Thank you so much. This does so much to help relieve contemporary anxiety (ie. Jan 6/MAGA is not unique) and turn it into just general sadness. Will America ever learn?!!!!

No. It won't. It can't.

Major General Smedly Darlington Butler was the OG Economic Hitman.

Was General Butler's testimony transcribed or does a summary of that testimony exist? Also, how do we know Prescott Bush was involved in what John McGuire and possibly M.P. Murphy were asking General Butler to do? Thanks.

You can read more on Prescott Bush - there's been a lot of research on it. "American Dynasty" is a good book that goes into it. Kevin Phillips is the author.

Thanks for being part of the reason the USA has lost every war since WW2 and is increasingly reviled for our military campaigns destroying entire nations and killing millions of innocents. Your POTUS, who loked to shower with his 11 year old daughter and is fond if groping kids, just called Laken Riley "Lincoln and apologized to her murderer for calling him illegal so you and your far left propagandist guest can sit on your high horse but you're both just lowlife pieces if shit and you are a disgrace to the USMC and America. Child rape enabling, gender confused racist clowns just like your dear leader Biden.

Unlike many books written by American authors such as Howard Zinn, Nomi Prins or Jeffrey Sachs that sells well in China, this book is not to be found in China. It is probably banned. I have read part of it in particular Chapter 4 and 16 on China. There are junior mistakes and lots of partial truths, typical of US undergraduate paper. For instance Hong Kong was taken by the British not after the Second Opium War but the first, then they added Kowloon and the New Territories after the Second Opium War. Also, quoting repeatedly the opinions of an ordinary translator and tour guide over the course of an afternoon is unprofessional and naive. One could learn a lot more even from Wikipedia and on KZbin. Also, the authors writes with an imperialist tone as if he is proud of the gangsters and the regime.

Thank you for your comment on some of the author's sources and for pointing out the nuances that underpin most colonial/imperialist accounts by Western writers. I'll read it with your comments in mind.

On the other hand you could have an educational cultural problem it means schools & universities did not educate you but rather programmed 📀 you for a precise task👮♀👨🎓👩🌾🧑🎤👨🎨🧑🔧, understanding becomes upside-down because the educational cultural programing did not include of how to use your mind but rather implanted concepts & a system of stimulation & response based on the preprogramed education & culture created for the student to accomplish a defined task, that is why you ask what will I do when I grow up, in reality you have no choice but become a wheel on the cultural clock 🕒 Einstein is an example as Kafka and many others. The fact that they deviated from the cultural educational programed isolated them from the masses culture and the state. Perhaps that is what took place to Jesus since he never follow any education at all. Ukrania Russian misunderstanding today follows the same path as Einstein. Washington Western programed 📀 culture and the schooling prevents you for actually thinking but follow faithfully your concept mental programming of stimulation 📀 response 😥 In reality means that culture is obsolete and now the problem of thinking becomes a reality that none has and everyone desperately needs 😥💲〽🔚
