मिलिए हरियाणा के एक युवा किसान इंदरजीत सिंह से। करनाल की इंद्री तहसील के कमालपुर गांव में रहने वाले किसान इंदरजीत सिंह गन्ना, गेहूं, धान की नई विधियों से खेती और उससे जुड़े काम करके अपने हर सपने को पूरा कर रहे। इंदरजीत सिंह के गन्ने की खेती की चर्चा दूर-दूर तक होती है, प्रसिद्ध गन्ना वैज्ञानिक पद्मश्री बक्शी राम भी उनकी पीठ थपथपा चुके हैं, इंदरजीत मानते हैं कि उन्हें आगे बढ़ाने में मेहनत के साथ वैज्ञानिकों की बड़ी भूमिका रही।इंद्रजीत के खेतों से गन्ने का बीज कई राज्यों में जाता है, उनके पास खेती और जिंदगी में जरुरत का हर सामान है. लेकिन कभी उनके पूर्वज खाली हाथ और नंगे पैर पाकिस्तान से आए थे। और एक वक्त की रोटी भी मुश्किल थी।
अपनी मेहनत, तकनीक और वैज्ञानिकों के साथ से इंद्रजीत ने खेती को एक फायदेमंद सौदा बनाया है।
"ये दिन कभी जाएं न और वो दिन कभी आएं न । खेती से ज़िंदगी बहुत बढ़िया चल रही है ।
मैं अपने बच्चों को बहुत बढ़िया एजुकेशन दे रहा हूँ, लेकिन चाहूंगा की वो लौटकर खेती में ही आएं , खेती जैसा सुख और कहाँ ।" इंदरजीत सिंह
सिर्फ गन्ना ही नहीं इंदरजीत गेहूं-धान की खेती भी नई विधि से करते हैं। बेड पर चुटकी विधि से बुवाई करते हैं। गन्ने के साथ गेहूं गन्ने की सहफसली खेती करते हैं। वे गन्ने की नर्सरी और बीज उतपादन भी करते हैं । इंदरजीत कहते हैं माइक्रो इरिगेशन के इस्तेमाल से खेती सरल हुयी व उत्पादन भी बढ़ा है।
इस युवा किसान के मुताबिक माइक्रो इरिगेशन का एक फायदा ये है कि पिछले साल जब हीटवेब में बहुत सारे किसानों के गेहूं की फसल को नुकसान हुआ था, लेकिन उनकी पैदावार ज्यादा ही रही थी।

Meet Indrajit Singh, a young farmer from Kamalpur village in Karnal's Indri tehsil, who is making his dreams come through innovative farming methods and related work. Indrajit Singh's sugarcane cultivation is widely discussed, and renowned sugarcane scientist Padma Shri Bakshi Ram has also praised his efforts, acknowledging the significant role of scientists in advancing agriculture. The seeds from Indrajit's fields are distributed to several states, and he possesses all the necessities for farming and life. However, his ancestors once arrived empty-handed from Pakistan, struggling to even put food on the table.
With his hard work, technology, and collaboration with scientists, Indrajit has turned farming into a profitable venture.
"These days should never pass, and those days should never return. Life is going very well with farming. I am providing my children with excellent education, but I wish they return to farming. There's no joy like farming," says Indrajit Singh.
Indrajit doesn't just cultivate sugarcane; he also employs new methods for wheat and rice cultivation. He practices bed sowing for wheat and intercropping sugarcane with wheat, enhancing his crop yield. He also runs a nursery for sugarcane and produces seeds. According to Indrajit, micro-irrigation has simplified farming and increased productivity.
According to this young farmer, one of the advantages of micro-irrigation is that despite many farmers suffering losses in the wheat crop due to heatwaves last year, his yield remained high.
