20+ years ago this ad was my first exposure to The Crystal Method, and it blew my mind.

such a pity that the quality is so low. these commercials were amazing at full res and quality and were an undeniable inspiration for the apple commercials that took a tremendous amount of inspiration from these ads.

I searched for this and I’m not disappointed at all, Motorola Razr resolution and all.

My throwback picture today is of my two friends and I at a Crystal Method show in New York City back in 2007. This song was already 10 years old, and still on the dance charts! Insane. I remember this commercial well. I don’t know how they pulled it off, but between the banging track and amazing skaters, khakis from The Gap actually looked cool.

In a time when there was no Shazam or Soundhog (or much of what we call the internet), this song stuck in my head for months before I, serendipitously, found out what it was called!

"Rock "is usually media code for white. Similar to how "urban" means black.

Crystal Method isn't Rock! It falls into the Electronica genre. I love all genres of music, hate Gap and this just proves that it's Maddison Ave marketing to the blind sheep. Sorry for sounding like a hipster, just calling it as I see it. The average Gap shopper knows nothing of real music. They love Ozzy and only know Crazy Train, love Cash and only know Ring of Fire, or love Tupac and only know California Love. Typical Gap shopper has Nickleback, Gaga and a Now compilation in thier Jetta.
@Lemondoor7 жыл бұрын
Gap knows that. I think it was just a concept. Khakis Dance makes more sense in terms of the genre BUT it doesn't translate as well in the marketing. That's all it was.
