I’d always dreamed about a year off after high school to travel and focus on kayaking, with vague travel plans that were in question because of Covid. It had its challenges, but it still blows my mind how much I progressed and was able to accomplish in that year. Fall living at the Green, a week trip to Mexico for waterfalls, a month trip to Zambia in January (huge shoutout to the SEND crew for taking an 18 year old under their wing). Month of working at home then drove out west for 2 months in Oregon with Team Scorch, a month in California and then Boise, Idaho for North Fork Championship. Cherry on top was a last minute invite to Iceland with Trent and Knox (@torryd4011 ). Eternally grateful to those who were apart of my adventures...while most think of kayaking as an individual sport, none of these trips or rapids are possible without a stout crew to support you. The kayaking community is special, and I’m confident looking back this will still be one of the best years of my life. Massive shoutout to www.dagger.com/us/ immersionresearch.com/ www.galasportusa.com/ and astraldesigns.com/collections... for the resources and gear to make it all happen. See you on the river!
