A really very interesting video - the wife was even glued to watching it and said 'wow'! Just re-doing my slightly wider than single garage and found the flooring and the ceiling somethings that I will follow up on. I store loads in my roof space on 18mm chipboard flooring sheets but like the way you boxed it from underneath. Overall it looks fabulous and nice to see an average sized garage project on KZbin and not a super sized US workshop - Well done.

Good to show the whole process in one video - job looks good and is real value for money. Suggestions for further improvements : 1 - Larger hatch for long items and ease of access for those of us who are not so slim or agile any more !! 2 - 'Guardsman' security bar to prevent the local scrotes from nicking your pride and joy. ( See review by The Missenden Flyer ). 3 - Steel pedestrian door for better security ( less glass, better locks ). 4 - Secondary floor lock for roller door. ( Another anti-scrote deterrent ).

Good vieeo for inspiration, Ive got a very similar size garage but im trying to make mine suitable for working on a car which is even more of a challenge than yours! Ive already boarded the central area of the loft space in there and installed a loft ladder whuch is a good start. I am thinking heavy duty shelves all the way round the perimeter below the joists but above head height, side walls i cant do a lot as need the space to work but maybe i can hang some thin stuff on the walls e.g. ladders, at the back wall toolbox and workbench... Ergh. Never enough space but it will beat working on the driveway in the winter.

@theoddjobs3749 Жыл бұрын
I have builders in the family so asked them, and both said it was fine for storage, i strengthened the rafters and put some loft board up inside, it’s overkill for what I needed, it mainly has old boxes and garden chairs up there, definitely not sturdy to hold substantial weight but safe enough to store

@theoddjobs3749 Жыл бұрын
It was a worry for me but once I had the new garage door fitted it was external so all the rain we’ve had since now drains directly in front into the drain so my floor remains dry, there are many options to put seals down as well that you can buy off Amazon to protect it, and depending on the budget you have you can level the drive or floor of the garage, for me the movement of the door from internal to external fit worked for me, hope that helps
