I been busy the last couple months but now I'm catching. I love all your videos and still have faith you'll make it. Someone tried to kill me so I'm recovering from the gun shot wounds and I'm glad I have my family and you car guys to help keep my spirits up.

building a car is like building a house. 3rd time is perfect. first time you build from an idea and make all the errors. second time you refined the work and dont make the same errors. 3rd time you have the rhythm and get all the tiny details perfected too. learning the hard way. best way to remember XD

Good choice on the Duraglass. I use it religiously and all the US Chemicals fillers. The Thin Ice as well as the 3M Piranha Putty are great lightweight fillers to top coat the Duraglass and get rid of the small imperfections and pinholes. If you haven't bought the primer already, I'd recommend the Dominion Acid Etch primer. Stuff isn't cheap but it works amazing. After you use the etch, throw some high build on, and then use a guide coat before you block it out. Itll show your low spots well. Nice work dude, getting there quite well. Love the way you widened it and I dig the speed holes. 👍👍

The bug looks awesome and u did lots of effort on it bro and so proud of u! Hood vents suck big time, ones on back look perfect... And u gotta see a way for merging the front fenders to lights pockets to hood rather than feeling pieces glued over each other and heyyy u gotta figure out something for rear fender assembly?! Even if way too skinny following contours of ur huge back wheel? Cutting through old bug fenders for clearance? Its coming together but u gotta finish welding and attachments before tackling grinding to bare metal and epoxy! Yet great work still... Happy for u!!!

Your quality of work seems to be improving a little trick when you’re trying to grind up welds like on body panels and you just want them to look good without going all Bondo and crazy try a flapper wheel on a mini grinder they do a really nice job of finishing without going crazy much nicer than a solid wheel which always leaves gouges no matter how hard you try
@600wheel3 жыл бұрын
I actually think you might have been using them but I’ve had too many pieces of wire wheel stuck in my eye to be able to tell and yes I was wearing safety glasses but those little fuckers are like boomerangs they can turn corners

My father had customer wouldn't let us use bondo only a small light plastic filler so every panel had to be stright it can be done and will make the car lighter I understand bondo is needed to make a car perfect believe me more then a few time he came out if the paint booth after one coat and made me block it back down and keep going till it was perfect just saying less bondo is better sometimes it's better to straighten then to fill if.
@rollerdragon3 жыл бұрын
alas, the only suggestion on lessening the body work nightmare is metal can be ground and polished, fiberglass and bondo crack... take the time, fill with weld, SKIM the thinnest of skims over top... it SUCKS but you'll never have to go back and do it again...

My father owned a body shop and worked in the field for most of his life I spent the first 15;years of my life in a body shop everyone knows 90% of a paint job is body work and prep but the bondo filler if it is over an 1/8 in thick you should be useing fiberglass reinforced filler I know poeple lop that shit in there thick but for a better cleaner job use the reinforced bondo it will help with shaping and hold better
