My opinion is one that has never served, but has hunted all their life, so take it with a grain of salt. But I would say your grandpa is a very smart man. Of course when it was time to buy a shotgun, Benelli and Beretta were the only ones considered. I live in America but my family is from Sicily and South Central Italy. I am 3rd generation born here. We are very proud of our heritage but we joke about it as well. When you find yourself throwing a Swiffer mop out your back door like a Roman pilum because it displeased you, you know you have some Italian in you. I’ll be a bro and share a tip: If you use the iron sights with the collapsible stock in the middle setting you probably will get the face pain he talks about in the video. The shotgun is intended to be shot from the longest stock setting when using iron sights. In the middle position the comb is higher, causing you to have to really mash your face down into the stock to get a good sight picture. For right handed shooters this also puts your face against the adjustment latch button. That’s where the pain most people complain about probably comes from. Running an optic that sits slightly higher than the iron sights will let you shoot from the middle stock setting without feeling like you’re getting punched in the face every round.

The most surprising takeaway from this video was hearing about an Aimpoint optic failing due to recoil. I would be interested to hear more about this.
@kylehenline3245 Жыл бұрын
It's a pretty well documented issue on the T1s, primarily happened on pistol slide mount set ups for competitive shooters that were putting them through thousands of recoil cycles. Speculation was the on signal was simply piggybacked through the same rotary encoder used for brightness adjustments. Mechanical rotary encoders have a metal slider moving over contacts, theory was the wiper had enough inertia to scrape at contacts with every recoil and wore them out prematurely, as in many cases people could still get them to work with the brightness cranked to the max or down on night vision settings they never used. Aimpoints now have an independent switch controlling on off, and are likely using magnetic or optical encoders that are contactless to boot.

@Larry Pinhead Now that’s a funny coincidence Larry, since she told me as well how much we have in common and that we even sound alike. I’ve had an M1 Super 90 Tactical since the late 90’s. Absolutely awesome shotgun! As Clint Smith says “pistols put holes in people. Rifles put holes through people. Shotguns, at the right range with the right load will physically remove a chunk of sh*t and throw that sh*t on the floor. And you will have to get someone to come in and get that sh*t off the floor with a shovel.”

Crayon eater here. We’ve broken these a few times in the past. Typically it’s from wearing out parts, or lost charging handles/levers/posts. Good weapons. During my time in, the PLT SGT got one, the rest issued in the platoon were pump shotguns, usually 500s. Seemed like a waste to me.

I cannot stress how much I LOVE this gun. My baby girl is always clean. Even when she's dirty Whats funny is that when you are working with it, and you keep to a certain ammo - 2 3/4 inch 00 buck 9 pellet- the spread starts becoming uniform and you can tell whos benelli hit what target based on the spread. Benelli sells trijicon sights for very expensive. Understand that they are actually Meprolite night sights. They work great. When you are always out at night you want to see your front sight and the Benelli night sights are glow paint so if you dont "charge" the front sight then it wont work. Buy the meprolites from meprolite, NOT from Benelli, unless you want to pay 3-5x's MSRP

Great review, I’ve had the H2O version for about 10 years now. Love the sights, the pistol grip gives me a very good hold on the weapon, I’m 63 now so the fact that the ARGO system cuts the recoil in half is much appreciated to be sure. The Carrier Release Button took me a little while to get comfortable with, but now I see its advantages. The rifle is a little heavy, but it’s built like a tank so that issue is user specific. All in all it’s my favorite home defense gun.
@michael8g2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, as your comment above says about the recoil, based on an a Benelli M4 vs a pump (I have a Mossy 590) shooting high brass slugs or 00, is the recoil really that big of a difference? And if so, does it really feel like half of the recoil? thanks in advance for your reply as I am considering an M4.
@OMGWUNSIU2 жыл бұрын
@@michael8g Hey, maybe 40% less of a hit to the shoulder. I guess it could be measured, but I haven’t seen a video on that yet. It just runs smooth as silk. I don’t shoot much any longer because I live in the city and it’s getting harder to find a place, plus the cost of shooting has gone up a lot. Perhaps you could find a range that has one and try it out. It is a noticeable difference. Goods luck!

One must understand that it may be one shell for the Shotgun user, but that one shell has nine .33 projectiles hitting in a group (9 entry wounds in a split second). So 2 shells on the receving end is near equivalent to a full mag dump of 18 rounds from a 9mm pistol. And you see how fast this thing fires. And that is just the standard loads. You can have slugs, buck, bird shot, flashbangs, flechette, riffled slugs, dragons breath, less letal, ect. This Shotgun is incredibly deadly and versatile. Hunt a bird, Start a fire, kill a predator... The M4 has you covered.
