Even if Garay Oak clicked fire blast it wasn't guaranteed to 1hko Skarm. It already revealed that it was timid when it outspeed Mence. Timid Zard has a 62.5% to 1hko Skarm with fire blast and considering fire blast's imperfect accuracy. Zard had roughly a 53.125% chance to 1hko Skarm with fire blast

I've been experiencing the bug with knock off recently as well Jim, on two separate occasions now Ive had my band knocked off Machamp and it displayed my item as still on, however the damage rolls were correct for Non-band damage. Odd. I mentioned it in the chat and have the replays saved somewhere.

in gen 3, knocked-off items are not actually removed, but rather their effects are nullified. so it would correctly still show your choice band

i had sent a bug report thinking it was a glitch, but was told that's intentional. knock off itself doesn't flag the item as revealed, only if the leftovers was activated would you know what was knocked off, i guess.

Yeah even just making it known you HAVE sub can give you better results on the predicts and plays later when the opponent now has the expectation of a sub you can lay down a punch instead.
