Awesome video !! I still have the full original set series 1 to 15 in a binder. If memory serves the reason the later series look different is because the cabbage patch company sued Topps and they had to change the cards to make them look less like cabbage patch dolls lol.

It's funny everybody's garbage pail kids collection always starts at the 2nd series because the 1st series is rare, I'm 43 and collected these as a kid in the 80's and now I've been on Ebay buying them all back....I think the amazing artwork on the cards is what draws you in , somebody told me these were actually Topps all time best selling cards above football, baseball ect...

Cool seeing the old cards. I used to buy them for my daughter. Some of the older ones are quite collectible and worth some money so make sure to hang on to them! I just saw an auction where one card was $100. I can’t remember which card though.

OMG yesssss!!! How did I miss this yesterday??!! I recently found my cards too. I never put mine in an album. They are just all stacked together with a few rubber bands. Lol. I should put them in an album...the stack is almost 5 inches tall!! lol. I was obsessed too Melissa!!!! Hahaha. I'm only about 3 years older than you... Yep...they make me giggle too!!!! I remember my sons got these but it was upsetting to my sweet daughter. The boys had to keep them in their bedroom so they would not scare her. I found out later that she had nightmares that her cabbage patch doll would turn evil...that's what her brothers told her. Parenthood is crazy hard😘

wow when you picked up the binder and showed an original set from 86 not a reprint but the actual real cards my mouth hit my floor, I know this video from the time of me posting is already over a year old but I just found it, and I can say something in me also has kind of woken up and now i'm on my hunt for garbage pail kids, thank you for sharing, great video edit: // I noticed something at 23:20 when you held up finger neil, it has a splash of green around the border, then I watched the whole video again and a few of the new cards have special borders, I believe those are like gold nuggets in the packs, special collector type not just the regular style, you might have something special there, look them up :)

The 80s GPKs were the best because each set parodied a cross section of different characters: celebrities, athletes, politicians, iconic movie monsters, etc. Nowadays, they make theme sets lampooning only one group like baseball players, zombies, school kids, holidays, and they're not that great. IMO
