Just a few things about bread fishing at boddingtons. I was fishing the open and drew 70s on a gale ridden day at boddingtons having had all rod holdalls blown off roofrack on journey to boddingtons which my holdall was the only 1 get runover on the M1 at sheffield. We decided to carry on and had to borrow a feeder rod off 1 of my mates.I fished a method for 3 and half hrs oand never had s bite .Some derby lads had been doing well catching with method and bread (6ml) but what happened on this day really blew my mind.After a biteless 3 and half hrs i decided to take the method off and put a 1 oz bomb and a 18 inch hooklength with 3 peices of 8ml punched bread,took the clip off and threw as for as i could .Having done this i was convinced the bread would have come off on the cast or the massive tow which was happening due to the high winds.I put the rod on rest and thought I'll go and check my damaged rods after m1 farce.While i was checking my trusty 11-13 diawa whisker kevlar rods i heard a bait runner going ,i looked down the rocks and fish on my bread rod! I landed the fish and threw it out again and same thing happened .I managed to catch 5 late carp to win my section but after that i used bread on many occasions before it got really popular.Good luck in all your up and coming matches and believe me bread fishing from nov onwards is a killer.cheers.

Them carp are to big for a keepnet now , think the matches should have a runner for anything over 10lb . Protect the fish and the venue
