THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST DISGUSTING DISPLAYS OF GASLIGHTING & BLATANT DISHONESTY - WHAT SHOCKED ME MOST WAS THAT GARCELLE BROKE DOWN AFTER THEIR BS & THEN FELT BETTER WHEN THE ABUSERS CONSOLED HER - ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING & CONCERNING THAT SO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE WATCH THIS.
@lilygarner84633 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Actions speak louder than words. The ladies are saying “you belong in this group” yet Garcelle feels like an outsider. Their words are empty if that’s how she feels
@doloresvancartier42493 жыл бұрын
Actually its very hard to do when you wake up in morning thinking you don’t belong. When the victim narrative is so deeply rooted in you that you end up being a prisoner of your own mind. Dont blame other people for that. Actually its easier to blame others. It means you transfert the responsibility on other people and you don’t have to do any effort to change. Make sense. No accountability. Its sad after all they’ve been through that black people still view their life and how they feel about themselves based on how other people view them.
@lilygarner84633 жыл бұрын
So Garcelle really had to have an emotional breakdown for the ladies to stop gaslighting her? Enough is enough. Denise was right - it is mean girls through and through. And I really thought that Crystal being the other ‘POC’ (and wanted to ‘educate’ Sutton about race and racism) would have stood up for Garcelle but no...just disappointing. Crystal wants to fit into this mean girl group so bad and it shows.

This was a very hard moment to watch in housewives history. These ladies gas-lite Garcelle and did not take any accountability for treating her as an outsider. They broke her down because they were trying to start trouble for a TV show, it's disgusting. Dorit will always bring up something that has already been resolved to stay relevant and belittle anyone in her path when she is wrong. The resident counsellor Rinna needs to stop this "I'm here to hold you accountable and be honest". Also, I find it so interesting that they are coming for Sutton when both Dorit and Kyle were laughing at Erica's stories and basically calling her a liar at dinner...yet everyone is calling out Sutton.

Technically Garcelle as a black woman born outside America is not meant to actually fit in, she is meant to just show how she is breaking boundaries and how you can make it in life. When these boundaries come down, more will fit in. I actually know a woman born in Jamaica who moved to another Caribbean country told to go home every day. She didn't even experience that much racism/xenophobia when she lived in England.

She legit had to breakdown for them to think "hey...sometimes she needs us to back down or to support her like how we always support eachother". Sad. Like they always chime in and back each other up even when they are in the wrong. With Garcelle's she is ALWAYS doing all her battles ALONE and she does them well because she is tough and has a sharp tongue when she has to use it BUT sometimes ppl just want a friend rooting for them or backing them up and defending them. Everyone is vulnerable sometimes. Everyone wants support even when and if they may be wrong at times. It's literally HUMAN nature. But for women of color we tend to portray them as either super weak or super strong. There is no in between to try and humanize them and to notice when they are breaking down or being vulnerable and need support. I loved this segment. I love Garcelle.

This all seems like of an eerie cult: Open up to this extent and then you are seen as 'okay', the way some women reacted towards Garcelle after she had said that in tears, the strange whispering: 'You're okay'. Garcelle needn't tell that because of her being a dark-skinned person, she feels like she doesn't belong. Everybody knows that of dark-skinned people. It's not that the women now learned that that was the case. I'm sure Dorit is not thinking now: 'Okay Garcelle, now I don't mind at all anymore that you said I talked too much, as you have 'opened up''. Everything is not now for ever okay, because Garcelle 'opened up'. They will go with her into another fight in the future alas). This person is in tears and then there is being said: 'Good of you', instead of: 'We're sorry we made you cry'.
