Patrick McMillan is the Horticulturist for the Downtown Cary Park, but he is best known as the Emmy Award-winning host, co-creator, and writer of the popular ETV nature program Expeditions with Patrick McMillan. For over 30 years, Patrick has worked as a professional naturalist, biologist and educator, and has even held such esteemed titles in the realm of Public Horticulture as the Director of the South Carolina Botanical Garden, and Director of Horticulture for the Juniper Level Botanic Garden. Join our Curator, Dennis Carey, as he sits down with Patrick for a nice Garden Conversation about plants, parks, and the exciting life of a professional plant person!

I and others had criticized Cary Downtown Park as the "only botanical garden without a botanist". That is clearly fixed and with such a wonderful leader. A superb hire!
