We have a lovely sort of country/farmhouse and the original owners must have read some book on Japanese design and used the ideas of not having straight lines and having corners and hidden areas, only you CAN actually see everything. So I had a canted turned arbor that did not line up with the back door or kitchen window or anything other than this silly short winding path. The problem was that it was planted in honeysuckle that was 14 years old. After listening to your videos, I decided that it was worth digging up vine and arbor to try and move it and straighten it. It worked and now everyone, including the vine (more sun) so much happier!!! I am so glad I listened to you talk about fixing structure first, and took a chance. No amount of planting would have fixed that horrible placement and twist. I have lots more of that nonsense to fix, but at least I'm not trying (unsuccessfully) to cover up bad structure!
