I think beauty videos, constant product reviews, and tons of looks are starting to fall to the wayside. Do I like hearing about beauty? Of course! Is that all I want? No. I think we like watching your channel because your reviews are authentic and thinks you are genuinely curious about or truly enjoy. I think we’re all into that. Also, I think the period of having 3729463848738374737 makeup products has also fallen to the wayside. We all like to look good, but we’re also realizing we don’t need fifty different eyeliners to get there. Keep posting what feels authentic and real to you. That’s what we are all here for. I think we've all been through the "try everything new and shiny" phase with makeup and as we've gotten older, we've learned what works for us and we buy our holy grails and keep it moving. I will ALWAYS watch a "what's in my trash" though. I LOVE them!

I definitely think the focus has changed a little in the last year from buying make up and people is more focused on making more of their natural features and beauty. So at least I, have been more focused on videos that teach wellness for the skin, products that are good for my skin (if they also make me look better that’s good but I wanna know if they are healthy for me) and body. HOWEVER, just so you know: I am from the pretty dirty princess bun days and I LOVE all your videos, and learned how to put make up on from you 🌈❤️

Make up videos are the least interesting content for me but it has always been that way. But I love Thursday life style videos like more organisation (even if that it’s not really your content) or your goals or trying on and cleaning your already owned clothes. I do love when you do long term videos like when you try something for 1 month or 6 months and do a recap. It’s noticeable I think when you put your heart & soul into something whatever that is - like the self tanning video, and i love that !! Trash videos are neat and if course podcast reviews!!! Love love that and I hope you would do a Netflix true crime series review. ❤️

Totally agree with this. I now invest my money more on things for my home vs makeup as I have SO MUCH makeup already. I will always watch favorites videos and empties however as that tells me more about what really works. For makeup videos I like seeing seasonal trends at the start of each season to change up my routine a bit, and videos around the Sephora and Ulta sales as those are my key times I still shop for makeup.

I have been watching beauty KZbin for almost ten years. You’re right, I’ve noticed that I started watching a lot more vlogs and lifestyle content a couple of years ago. For me, it was getting older (I’m 39)/shifting life priorities and having less time or focus for elaborate makeup and just relating more to lifestyle content. That being said, I love all of your videos ❤️

Honestly, I just realized that I’ve stopped watching makeup videos which used to be all I liked to watch. SO interesting how we subconsciously do that! I would watch just about anything you post, and love watching you and Grant and Luna! However, I’m in my early to mid 20’s and it could be that I’m enjoying more home and lifestyle as I’m maturing and going through those stages of life instead. I'm really here for the vlog content/other stuff and less so the beauty. I started watching almost ten years ago I think? For the beauty stuff but these days makeup is never something I get excited about or want to spend my money on, or heavily apply. I'm sort of just over makeup and tbh have never been too passionately into that stuff. I'm a lazy girl haha. Also, as I'm getting a little older (I'm 29), I find I like the way I look without a lot of makeup on more. The makeup marketing/influencer stuff just kind of wore me out fast, too .

There are a few reasons I don't watch makeup content anymore: *The makeup influencer drama is ridiculous and messy and I don't care for it. (not that I feel like your content is like that) * I am going to college rn and I can't afford a lot of makeup * I like that you do a lot of reviews on drug store and basics, but I am not a neutral eye girl. It isn't even your content though, I am kind of bored with a lot of the palettes coming out because I feel like it's the same stuff over and over again. I love that your content has grown and evolved with you as the years have gone by. I am around your age and I feel like I relate so much more with your lifestyle/vlog content. Now, I find myself gravitating towards videos made by youtubers I love/vibe with/ enjoy their personality and opinions - rather than basing it off of the content. With regards to beauty videos. I know I’ve got to a point in my life where I have a great beauty routine, I know what I like and in general don’t try new products. As a result, I also don’t seek out beauty videos anymore because I don’t really feel a need for them. Saying that, I LOVE the way you do yours, especially the multi day tests because I always found I can’t appreciate the full effect of a new product without it. I also like your favourites videos and have definitely taken a few recommendations from there (eg Essie nail polish!). I’ll honestly watch anything you put out, but would love to see more homely and cooking videos in the future!

re: makeup reviews/beauty videos-i'm definitely less into purchasing makeup than i was a few years ago but i still do watch beauty videos just because i've come to love certain channels (you included!) or just to keep up to date with anything that might fit into what i'm wanting/looking for (which is also definitely a lot more curated now that i feel like i've found my "style"). that said, my favorite beauty videos to watch are the more unique video ideas, "will i buy it/anti-haul", or chattier GRWM videos over straight beauty reviews all the time. kelly gooch and samantha march always have such great ideas (and even emily noel and jessica braun, too!) where i feel like they put more thought into the quality of the content rather than just trying a bunch of new makeup all the time. i like reviews better when i feel like it's a product that the person is genuinely interested in/has tried a bunch rather than just things received in PR/the newest thing. i think kelly does a really great job at talking about new makeup without actually having to purchase it and i just LOVE how intentional she is with her collection / looking more critically at releases. it just seems like a more realistic approach to makeup rather than the collector or influencer aspect of big gurus.

I do love all of the beauty reviews, and I only watch you and your reviews. I don't think we need one every week, but I do loving watching them. I love hair transformations and the different ways to do your hair. I love all of the clothes reviews, as that is where my heart is at. Good luck with everything that is going on! In all honesty, I have observed your channel evolving over the years and it just seems like it has organically moved away from being as makeup centric and is more about all your other interests/passions. I'm so here for it. One of the reasons I have been a longtime subscriber of yours is how genuine and authentic you are. It's refreshing in the "beauty" realm of KZbin. I think it also speaks to you being a normal person who has found some longtime favorites in makeup and having less of an interest/desire to try all the new things. I found your channel when I was in a newbie hair/makeup stage, didn’t know much and wanted recommendations, but as I’ve gotten older, beauty videos don’t interest me as much. I still always watch yours, but mainly because I enjoy your personality and commentary😅 And if I needed advice on a product, I’d definitely still go though your videos. I’ve been using many of your recommendations for years now! I think the fact that you cover so many different areas of interest in your videos make it fun and way more interesting. I think as you’ve grown and found different interests, we as viewers have too. Cooking, clothes, house stuff, gardening, your general life events are really fun/interesting to watch, to me more than beauty videos because that’s never been a huge interest. Again, it’s your personality, your humor, kindness, creativeness, and authenticity that makes me watch all your videos in the first place. But I definitely have never been super into beauty stuff, so I’m thrilled at the variety of videos you’ve been producing the last couple years :) ❤️

I found your channel because of a Warby Parker video you did a million years ago and have stuck around because I just adore your personality. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've worn make up in my life, so that's definitely not what I'm here for, but I've also always happily watched them. I agree with a lot of other people that I think the mass consumerism of make up videos is falling by the wayside as people get older, so maybe that's what's being reflected. I think that incorporating beauty into things like favorites or empties videos is still fun and interesting, but the content of yours that I love the most is more of the lifestyle stuff. I love watching you decorate your house, and learn to take care of plants, I love your vlogs and the few times that you've done cooking videos. The time you tried that bizarre jello savory thing was INCREDIBLE. Oh, and can you PLEASE give more relationship advice? Those videos have been so, so good. I've really enjoyed watching you and your content evolve over the years, so I definitely think you're doing something right!

I've been subscribed and watching consistently for the past 5-6 years I believe and through that time I've never been a makeup wearer. I probably found you from a hair tutorial -since I love hair!- and stayed around to watch the rest of your content because of you and your personality. Personally, I've watched you for so long and I definitely found you initially because of the beauty videos. I was very into beauty back then as well. I think for me, I've grown into many other different interests over the years, beauty has kind of taken a backseat. For reference, I was in my twenties when I started watching you, and now I'm in my mid thirties. I still love watching your videos because it's you, not for the beauty tips. I actually hardly wear makeup anymore. My favorite content of yours is the home decor and cooking content, especially with Grant! My husband and I are also in a similar phase, we just moved into a brand new home. I will forever and always love all of your content. Makeup videos hmm the truth is I enjoy a mix. One reason why I love that you brought together both channels. Like makeup within other content is much more relatable now. I’ve never felt your “sell” or “pitch” in your videos. It’s always just like chats and experience which I think draws me in more.
