When COVID hit, we were sent home to work. I set up my office in our four seasons room which has floor to ceiling windows on three walls. I have never been happier at work. I filled it with plants and candles. I've enjoyed spring, summer, and the beginning of fall. Deer, birds, lizards, and squirrels meander by. I never want to return to brick and mortar office space again. I hope to work from home until I retire in 6 years. Thank you for sharing your garden room.

Ann...not all teachers graduate at the head of the class.....Goldenrod is not the same as plant that throws pollen into the air and causes so many of us to feel bad. Goldenrod is not pollinated by air. It's pollinated by bees and butterflies and the pollen is not distributed by the wind. Also, Goldenrod is great for colds, coughs, allergies, and even urinary tract infections. Go out and harvest some and enjoy the gifts from nature! : > )

The truth about Orange Pekoe tea is this: it's not flavored unless the manufacturer puts something in it. Orange refers to the House of Orange, the Dutch, more specifically: Oranje Nassau. Pekoe refers to the grading system in China. It is derived from the Chinese word "pak-ho". I refer you to page 84 of TEA, aromas an flavors around the world, by Lydia Gautier.

I have a room like this at the back of my house. I live in an old farmhouse on 3 acres built in the 1850s in Pennsylvania. There is an addition at the back of the house which is from 1920. It is two rooms comprising a kitchen and a room like this one in the video. I've been calling it my great room but I'm going to start calling it my garden room. I have 3 antique colonial style china cabinets in it along with an antique colonial table and chair set. The room has a sink. I also have my electric stove and dishwasher in this room. I am planning on adding a wood stove in the room and a wood cookstove to the kitchen. I really like the way this room in the video is decorate with so many garden items. I am going to be adding some ceiling baskets and a farm table. I want also to add more books and little creatures. I was concentrating on antique dishes but the garden theme makes it extra cozy. Thank you so much for this video.
@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow4 жыл бұрын
Sounds to me like an ideal garden room, go ahead and add the antique dishes too... you'll want to have a pot of tea while you enjoy your room.

@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Thank you for your reply. That room has a concrete floor with some old tile that needs removing and the floor needs leveling. I’ll probably paint it later. Also, just had a new roof put on that part of the house and tore out ceiling drywall so I have a vaulted ceiling and beams by default. That’s where I’ll hang baskets. Lots of work to do in that room. But I am gaining much inspiration from watching your videos. 😊 PS I am now painting my living subfloor and aging it with stain after seeing the beautiful results you achieved with stenciling and staining your floor.

There are several Amish and Mennonite community stores about 30 minutes from my home and I have been eyeing some of the kitchen tools, especially the apple peeler crank and the meat grinder with accessories. After watching your video, I know now I need to go get those tools! My mother used to have me run the hamburger through the meat grinder to stretch the amount of meat for our large family ....a trick her mother taught her during the Depression. Sometimes she would crush saltine crackers with rolling pin, then add those crumbs to act as a filler, so the meat went a little farther until payday. As the oldest girl, I learned a few tricks in that old country kitchen lol!
