I got a buddy he has a highly modified puller a John deer with 2 countem 2 20 horse Kohler engines on it the frame has been stretched to accommodate them and they are connected together. It has a ditch witch rear end under it. Like I said highly modified. Its definitely a puller.

You could put two spacers on both sides of the pin and the chain woukd stay dead center also

That's actually a good tip. I will try that

Good advice. I started with an old MTD I pulled out of the woods and got running with my kids. It didn't last long but I learned a lot and got hooked. Are you pulling a transfer sled or stone boat

@@geared4torque989 one of those one the guy ride on the back of it. I had a wheel horse 308-8 but was told wouldn't be enough power So I sold it. Looking a cubby's or 310 wheel horse. Just looking where to start I mean embress my self by knowing nothing prolly go to few more shows look around and stuff see what people are.doing
@geared4torque9892 жыл бұрын
@@JorgeVonVogler there is a fine line between power and traction. If you gear it low enough you can turn the tires no matter your power. But you need traction to put it to the ground. That's where your weight placement plays a part. However a transfer sled requires speed. Check out some of my older videos of pulls. Or check out your compition and get some ideas that might work for u.

I built an adjustable hitch. Question is should the hitch be taller than the axles? I know most clubs want 12'' from the ground.
@geared4torque9892 жыл бұрын
Yes. Having the hitch above the axle will pull the front of the tractor up, putting more weight on the rear tires. Then you move the weights to the front to keep the front tires floating. What I mean by that, the front tires should be on the ground but just barely.

I’m new to this garden pull. The problem I am running into is plastic axles. Is there a place to order axles that are metal
@geared4torque9892 жыл бұрын
To be honest I've never seen a garden tractor with plastic axles. My suggestion would be to look for a different tractor. Because if it has plastic axles then there might be other components that are not up to the task.

Hi I have a old cub 109 with a hydrostatic do you think that will work even with the hydrostatic
@geared4torque9892 жыл бұрын
My opinion is the hydrostatic will be an issue. That being said I've seen some hydrostatic tractors do real well. A good test would be to tie it to something sturdy like a tree, and pull on it. Be careful it might wheelie. If the wheels won't turn the hydrostatic bypass won't let it build enough pressure. It's a Safety mechanism to stop the user from breaking anything. If it pulls and weight and wheelie bars and have fun. Old cubs are always great tractors

I'm 46 and want to build a puller. I have no idea where to even start
@geared4torque9893 жыл бұрын
Start by going to some local tractor pulls. Find out what clubs are near you. And get some rules. Not all clubs use the same rules. Then start looking on facebook marketplace for garden tractors. Do some research before buying one because depending on if the club pulls a stone boat or transfer sled can change what you are looking for. If you need help deciding if a tractor is good you can always ask some of your local pullers or here.

I need help finding places to pull
@geared4torque989 Жыл бұрын
If you Google your county or neighboring county with tractor pullers you might find a club. Alot of clubs use the name of the area they represent. Or go to a local fair and see if they have any pulling events, find out who is organizing the pull. Hope this helps
