I watched a 9 year old girl make a moline scream until they told her she couldn't take the sled home with her. She knew what a stellite valve was cause daddy taught her how to grind them. As she claimed her trophy the announcer asked her if she wasn't afraid to blow it up ? "Daddy says if it breaks we know what to make stronger". Lots of laughter and tears in the crowd that night.

When they go too fast. These classes have RPM/speed limits to increase safety. When it comes to open classes, they can run full boar.

There are slow enough, they can walk beside them in the kid's classes. Should they? I don't know. If you ask me, let them hook. But there may be a teachable moment along the way.

I understand what you're saying, but the one father was constantly reaching out and touching the steering wheel. that does not build confidence, that will cause the child to lose interest. Let the child screw up, and then talk about it later.

@@nebula6981 One of the pullers, the little ones, has had a bout with cancer, and in chemo, and has Grand National vehicles taking his name and memory with them. His name is Bubba. He is so in awe of what we do. I explained it to him and he was like blown away. Explaining Live Stream and head explodes!!! Haha, he is a good kid with a good story and a great family beside him.

Because the public has this opinion that what these children are doing is too dangerous for them... Also you will notice that many even though younger are at different levels of driving, from even a couple of the older kids. the kid at 4:00 is young, but has the driving down pat so to speak. I'm just happy to see a DAD doing ANYTHING with their kids...

This sled is dangerous for higher speed tractors. Any sled that whips back and forth regardless if the driver is bad should be shut down.

They sold this one. I don’t know where it went. These things are mechanical. Operators are always working on them.

That rual makes no sense in the horn blowing, why not govern the engines to 4000 rpms in stock classes, that’s the way it’s done in Kentucky,

theres 4k and 5k classes but seperate speed limit classes, 3mph, 5mph, and 8mph. the horn is to let them know their speeding

Haha. They are not for weight. They are for safety. But the sled operators sometimes pull as well. So they may wear them, but if they are like any other pullers I know, the helmet gets ripped off immediately. You would think it is SO UNCOMFORTABLE! Haha.

Look up “Outlaw Wreck at Richmond NQS.” The driver loses control of the tractor and flips. He was unharmed and jumped right up but if he didn’t have a helmet on it could have been much worse

Well, it was just me. I was fighting a Yellow Jacket. Finally stung by one. Killed it and then 10 of his closest friends. It was a rough day. 80 degrees wearing a hoodie to keep protected. Any advice or how to condense 200 (10 competitors x 20 classes) hooks down and not offend any one of them? I am serious because I don't know. I will ask the owners of the league.

@@coonrod_official1835 No they are just small tractors. And for their size are just as strong. Bring your lawnmower to one. No weight in the frame, aluminum where these are cast iron, transmissions that would shatter under the load. Junk compared to the least of those. Most are 40 to 50 years old. Lawnmowers are tossed in the scrap by 5 to 6 years. The 2000 dollar tractors of the 60's through late 70's are very expensive now and are more like 9000 bucks. With Chinese diesel engines. They are just what's left of the best garden tractors ever made.
