Hiya Freya garden is really taking shape now. I agree with the other lady……if you paint the fence it becomes this chore you have to do regularly or else it looks really scruffy. Learned that the hard way!😊

lol I painted my fence black 3 years ago. Love it as a backdrop to the garden. Sets off the green foliage beautifully. It will need topping up this year but I don’t mind. Takes no time if you spray it. A little circular wooden seat would look beautiful built around the magnolia tree. Loving the updates so far & must take a trip to Wiltshire after seeing your little trip away. Love that you can take the dog too 🙂

Painting fence black would make plants really stand out , and having two areas of seating that follows sun from day to evening is good idea. If that stuff works on fox poo ill get it so tired of my two rolling in it i use ketchup prior to wash as it neutralises the smell

I fold my clothes as soon as I take them off the airier, then straight upstairs to put away. I am also a Taurus! Love the garden update, the tree on the grass would look lovely with a circular bench around it, lovely shaded area to sit and read a book in the warmer months

Freya, why not get one of the gazebos that has the metal slats then you can open it up when you want sun and close it up for shade/rain proof. I definitely recommend some kind of roof over an outdoor kitchen. I did a huge project last year if you want to have a look for inspiration x

Oooh a good video idea! Reno regrets/lessons learnt and another video of Reno best ideas and no regrets with what you did. My biggest fear with our Reno starting is getting the flooring wrong. It is such a big investment and very disruptive if you want to change it.

Grass area is not big.. please..no more gravel, building, brickwalks in the lawn half (you have enough of that on the other half of the plot).. add butterfly and insect friendly shrubs and bushes around the edge of the lawn with flowers and herbs.. also blueberry, black and redcurrent bushes, cultured thorn-free blackberries etc.. then you have fruit and herbs to help the insects and food to eat. They are all low maintenance. I did it in my garden.. its wonderful. I also added flowers and giant lilies between which are stunning. A seat around the tree would be nice to.
